I listen to news radio for traffic reports, and this is getting increasing coverage. As it is, we're over 100 consecutive days with no rain, and none is in sight. Temps next week of 115+ as you also pointed out. It's bone dry now, and fires are popping left and right. So far they've been on the small side, but one up above Wikieup, on the way to Kingman is approaching 3,000 acres. It's going to be bad if we don't get much of a monsoon this year.

it was 85% humidity today. You had like 6%!
Yeah, I know. I was checking my Tamaqua station and it was up there and I'm sure it was uncomfortable.
Anyway, our high today was 116.

Was gonna say I remember plenty of coal mines driving through clearfield (and surrounding areas) visiting my grandma when she was still alive
I was punking on the NWS graphic where they mislabeled the counties on that tornado statement...lol
There is bituminous coal out your way, isn't there?

Crawl out of the coal mine, sir
Wrong county...oh, wait...

So my daughter and her family are at Splash Mountain RV Park just east of Northumberland with their brand new camper trailer for the holiday weekend, and I guess were close to all the action. Fortunately they did not have any damage and are all OK.

The best part of this is that Phoenix has gone 100 days without rain and is still basically spot on its average for the year
If it weren't for the abnormally rainy winter, we wouldn't be.

Nothing is worse than the beer they used to serve at the Vet.
Nothing was worse than any food concession at the Vet. Nillon Brothers ran it and everything flat out sucked ass.

I spent a week in Phoenix a while back and honestly thought it wasn't as bad as a 70 dew point 90+ degree day over here lol

You guys are both right. 100+ in the shade when it's super dry feels much better than even say 88 with a 72 dewpoint. Once the monsoon hits, it's a different story.
While it doesn't happen everyday, you can get days where it's 108 with a 65-70 dewpoint, and then it gets brutal.

These two posts get a response of instead of just a reaction.
Beginning Monday, and lasting for at least a week and a half, our highs will likely meet and exceed 110.

Yes perhaps.
Now, this morning, the big story is the dangerous heatwave coming next week. 120 is a real possibility, and we even have a small chance of breaking the all time record of 122.
