  1. I would be lying if I said I didn't think of this scenario a few times. I some ways, I'm somewhat hoping she has a miraculous change of heart and wants to move here. It pains me a bit to have to sell my parents' home that they lived in and loved these past 25 years. It really is a nice house, and one filled with quite a few memories for me of them enjoying the lifestyle of the southwest desert. But, at some point most of us end up faced with this dilemma.
  2. It's going to be one here, too. High of 95 today and 98 tomorrow. My wife comes in today, so she's in for a weather shock when she comes out of the airport...lol.
  3. I'm hoping May or June. I have to put my mom's will through probate, and then sell the house and a couple of higher value items, donate clothing and furniture, and then probably trash things I'm not taking and no one else wants. I have a full house back in PA, so I can't bring a large amount of stuff back with me. There's simply no room for it all. I may be able to transfer with my company to an account we have in Hazleton. We'll see, though.
  4. Good. Get those BN temp out of there and over with before I come home...
  5. I was just perusing Accuweather's (don't shoot me) future radar, and at the of the run it looks like a secondary line of storms forms along I-80.
  6. I guess it's time to tell you guys. This past Tuesday, I lost my mom. She passed peacefully late afternoon. She couldn't overcome the digestive system infection (c diff) that she contracted while in rehab for a broken hip. I sat with her, holding her hand as she slipped away to the other side, reiterating that I loved her, but that I was ok, and that I wanted her to be pain free, to see again, and be with my dad and brother again. We had some differences of opinion while I was here, but I hope my being here in Arizona was a comforting factor over the past year and a half that I spent with her.
  7. Seeing all these rainfall numbers being posted, I wish the gauge in my backyard station was working. When I get back home I'll have to see what the problem is.
  8. The 5/9/20 event is remembered well, strangely because it was the day I finished off my partially torn rotator cuff trying to remove an old kitchen faucet. Had to call my nephew to finish the job. It was the first time I'd ever seen snow in May.
  9. 35 to 81 for Tamaqua. Fairly impressive temperature spread today.
  10. 79.3 in Tamaqua. I was caught by surprise that it was that warm.
  11. When your working, but just happen to be fortunate enough to be in the path of totality. This guy was in DFW either loading or unloading when totality hit.
  12. According to the graph on my Tamaqua station, the temp dropped 7 degrees from 67.3 at 1:25pm to 60.1 at 3:40pm. Pic my daughter sent at peak eclipse (92.8%) through the clouds.
  13. That is a fact. We've had a couple of graupel events here in parts of the metro Phoenix area from upper level lows this winter.
  14. Yeah, the Rockies suck. My post was mostly about how much I hate the Dodgers. I do think the Dbacks have a pretty good, competitive team, though. Would love to see a Phillies/Dbacks series again this fall, as I am a big fan of both teams.
  15. On the flip side of that, the Dbacks are 2-0, winning decisively last night after their epic home opener on Thursday. I'm really hoping that they run away with the NL West and hand the ridiculously overpaying Dodgers their asses this year.
  16. @canderson Is that a pic of your trash can at the bottom of the right side frame?
  17. Ironically, Saturday night through Easter Monday might be quite a bit rainy (and windy) here in AZ...
  18. Thanks, but there's more to that story. She picked up c diff after she got to the rehab facility and is having a really difficult time battling it, and it shut down her physical therapy totally for the past two weeks. Her outcome is iffy at the moment.
  19. 58, mostly cloudy, and Canderson type winds today here in the desert. It's freaking chilly and feels more like PA than Phoenix...
  20. Isn't that how it usually goes these days. AN most of winter and then BN most of spring?
  21. Uh oh. Guess I better apologize now for any strife I've created...
  22. Sure am. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/JBsNzJc8CCkijvzA/?mibextid=qi2Omg
