  1. It'll be interesting to see if that band can make it past I-81, the squall and thunderstorm killer up my way. AccuWeather future radar kind of says yes, but we'll see.
  2. Well, that at least gets my area to 3-6 which I'll take. Of course it all comes down to mother nature herself what actually happens, regardless of what the models show.
  3. Sorry if I'm so cynical, but this is just a bad reminder of the double barreled heartbreak of February 2010 where both blizzards gave Tamaqua 2 and 4 inches respectfully as confluence ate away at the northern extent of the precipitation shield. I sat and watched band after band of heavy snow move north towards me only to get eaten up by the dry air.
  4. Reading the pbp, I kind of got excited. The I looked at the snowfall map, and the evolution of the precipitation shield, and reality set in.
  5. Just light flurries here in Tamaqua. You have to look pretty hard to even see them.
  6. I don't want to be a negative Nancy (too late, already am) but I just don't see it changing much at this point. It's becoming more and more evident that this is not going to be my storm.
  7. Wouldn't surprise me if, looking as how things are depicted now, Schuylkill County would be left out of that WSW.
  8. Of course I'm in the 1-2 inch zone. Beyond po'd right now. I'm so sick of the amount of 1-2 inch events I get. I've said it before, if that's the case than I'd rather get no damn snow at all.
  9. I haven't gotten lucky in years. Why start now...lol
  10. Yes. Sorry @mitchnick. I should have also said that I hope you feel better soon. Being sick sucks. Luckily, I've been able to (so far) avoid any of the bugs that have been hitting so many folks lately.
  11. I'm not greedy. I don't care if MD/VA/DC get 12-18 inches, just as long as I can get 6 inches +/-. Give me that and I'll be happy. I don't need either of those things to make ME miserable. Life's been kicking me in the nuts ever since I came back from AZ. Current dilemma is that I need to drive an automatic truck due to shoulder issues, but have to go back in a manual because the guy who drives the truck I've BEEN using comes back from medical leave.
  12. It sure looks like every 06z model is taking a step back from the good stuff we saw last night from the 00z suite.
  13. That would be sweet, but I doubt anything close to that happens.
  14. Still sitting on the fringe in my backyard on the Euro. The others were a bit better for me.
  15. Mic drop? More like a jaw drop. Thing is could it verify, or is it a blip?
  16. While I don't have much wind at my house, where we fuel our trucks is a different story. I opened the door and stood on the running board to put my coat on, and a damn gust kicked up and shut it right on my legs. Almost knocked me back into the truck.
  17. That's what I'm looking for. About a 6 inch, high end advisory, low end warning, storm. While it would be nice to see those pinks covering the entire map, I'll take what the ICON is showing. I just want more that a 1-2 inch nuisance.
  18. Ugh...Voyager rant here, but I'm so tired of being too far north, south, or west in these snow events. If we (I) can't get a good, solid high end advisory event, than I'd just as soon smoke cirrus.
  19. How about 30? That's all I need to get into the 6 inch gradient.
  20. So I go away for a bit, and I see that the thread went hot, so thought maybe there was a good model run incoming. But it's football...
  21. Just what I need. Snow when I don't want it and no snow when I do. I have a big, half day long, eye specialist appointment on Friday because I was recently diagnosed with macular degeneration. I need my wife to drive because I'll be dilated, but she doesn't drive in snow. So I'm REALLY hoping the Friday snow doesn't happen.
  22. 12.5 mph in my backyard. Unless my anemometer is way off, but really, where my house sits is so much calmer than even my daughter's house higher up on a hill.
  23. The great thing about being out there is that you can live in warm Phoenix and drive 2 hours and be in a winter wonderland. Or, you can live in Flagstaff, and when you need or want a break from the cold, drive to Phoenix. Add into that the diversity and beauty of the landscape and it's just an awesome place to live.
