  1. Heading to Cape May this weekend for a little three day beach vacation. The forecast (at this point) is just absolutely stellar!!! Saturday Sunny, with a high near 76. Saturday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 68. Sunday Sunny, with a high near 76. Sunday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 69. Monday Sunny, with a high near 77.
  2. It was. I wonder if it had anything to do with downsloping, though. Mag?
  3. Not if you were in SWPA (Pittsburgh area). I took a PSU soccer team out there for a game in Pleasant Hills, and the gray drizzlies ended as I was coming down off the Laurels, and it was sunny and 86 out there during the afternoon...
  4. We rolled out at 11am. Rain wasn't too bad yet at that time.
  5. It funny though. I can't even do a coastal location with a approaching tropical system right. It was supposed to get going (for what it was going to do) by this evening. What happens? He slows down and now tropical conditions might be here almost 24 hours later than originally thought...AFTER we leave for home.
  6. Yup. Just saw that. We roll out of here at 11am Friday, but I'm sure I'll see some effects. I almost with we were staying until Saturday now...lol
  7. Thanks MAG! Next interest is the 21-23 timeframe when the wife and I do her birthday vacation in Cape May. The Atlantic basin has become quite active, so I'll be watching the tropics for the next few weeks.
  8. I'll be in a boardwalk motel, but not sure of surge with a NE track and winds from the north parallel to the beach. I guess I "shouldn't" hope for a closer in track, but I am a weenie, so...lol
  9. Keeping my eye on Dorian and the OCMD area where I'll be this week until Friday. Don't know what to expect, but it seems as if no matter what he does between The Bahamas and Florida, the end result is till the same downstream. A track perpendicular to the NC coast and out to sea. For once, just once in my life, I'd like to be in a good location for an anomalous weather event, but it just doesn't seem to be for me. So many tropical events get OCMD pretty good, but with me there, this one won't.
  10. Yup... It was only a temporary move, but I ended up returning faster than I expected. My mom is thinking of coming back east...
  11. Looks like I'm going to be doing a 4 day, 3 night charter to OCMD this week from Tuesday to Friday. Wonder what it's going to be like down there late week. Latest GFS seems to bring him pretty close.
  12. How dare you guys steal my "Tamaqua Split"...lol
  13. Wow...I'll have to find out if it did. Looks pretty good, though.
  14. Someone else will be back in the area by next weekend as well...
  15. Ouch. The heat here is a bit tough, but I don't think it's as bad as the humidity.
  16. Haha... It's 114 again today in the Valley of the Sun. But with only 7% humidity, it's a dry heat...lol
  17. That sounds a lot like my PA neck of the woods, except in my case they cruise the whole state, fall apart near I-81, then re-fire again and nail the Poconos and the Lehigh Valley.
  18. As much as I love the warm/hot weather, I just don't think I could work outdoors out here. As a commercial driver it's not bad, though.
  19. You want a nuclear furnace. Try living where I am for the forseeable future. I had to move out to Phoenix to help out my aging mother, and last weekend it was 115 on Saturday and 117 on Sunday at her house. This weekend (with the monsoon around) the temps will be milder at 98-102. Now, as you all know, I don't care for winter and like it mild, and will love it out here in a couple months, but hot damn, temps pushing 120 during the summertime are HOT...
  20. I'm glad. It was meant to be be tongue in cheek for anyone with a sense of humor! I'm ok with it. It's uncomfortable, but since I had my thyroid issues, the winter cold has been nearly intolerable for me.
  21. Capped off a great night (the Dbacks killed the Nationals 18-7) with a Monsoon ride home...
  22. Yup. As Canderson said, a retractable roof stadium. Keeps it about 75 to 80 inside no matter the outside temp. I was at the first ever game played here back in 1998 when it opened.
  23. I see that. The heaviest is to the south of town, but looks to be drifting northward. Meanwhile it's 110 again today out here in the desert.
