  1. Woke up 15 minutes ago and checked my weather station and SURPRISE...the rainfall total for the event (so far) was 3.18". USGS site a quarter mile north of me...
  2. Getting quite a gullywasher here at the moment. So far up to 0.83" and downpouring.
  3. It's all good. One day, though, perhaps. My boss told me about the place where I park. It's certainly not the best part of Harrisburg, but it's fairly close to the capitol building (we have to drop and run), and there are three different places to eat there. So far, no one has bothered me there.
  4. 43 gray, damp degrees here in Tamaqua this morning. It feels very raw outside. Saturday looks to be a rather nice day, though.
  5. I'm at my favorite Harrisburg hiding place, the shopping center at 7th and Division Sts, so if anyone wants to stop and say hi (or shoot me for wishing winter away...lol) I'll be here until about 1pm...
  6. All snow, light and steady now. Not going to accumulate at 39 degrees, but it's flakeage and not pingers, which is a bit of a surprise. I thought we'd be all rain by this point in the day.
  7. Getting some big, fat flurries at the moment in Tamaqua after a bit of a lull...
  8. Agree 100%. It sure does seem like we are headed in that general direction. But it raises the question of how something like that could happen if Earth's axis of rotation and/or orbit doesn't change.
  9. I'm up in Freeland in the higher elevations of Luzerne County, and it's only 36 with full sun at 2pm.
  10. Disgusting actually. I don't know about anyone else, but I am sick and tired of precipitation (in any form) right now. Have we strung 5 straight sunny days in row together since last July? I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem like we did.
  11. Wow! Here in Tamaqua I got 2.00" right on the nose. Not to often the numbers come up even like that. Well, in reality, it might be 1.99999999967" due to the 10 or 12 ice pellets I had right before I left for work...lol
  12. And some areas got it. I was supposed to do a Hazleton Area High School field trip today, but they got enough snow for a 3 hour delay which automatically cancelled out the trip. So now I'm back at home and lost a day of pay. Here in Tamaqua, we had a few pingers but for all intents, it was all rain and no accumulation, but once I got up the hill a mile from the house it was snowing. Then, when I got up the next hill to McAdoo, that's where the roads caved and I saw 1-3 inches the rest of the way to our bus garage in Hazleton. This was at the Valero gas station in McAdoo this morning just 6 miles from my house...
  13. Hearing a few pingers on my window awnings this morning. Snowing I believe in Hazleton, and ground is white at a friends house (per a photo) in Lake Harmony. Have 1.87" in the gauge.
  14. Sitting in the Newark Airport Terminal A bus parking lot and there's quite the impressive light show going on to my west.
