Yeah, gotta look at the total storm evolution. Like you stated, dryslot is and has been part of the equation. Wraparound/deformation will likely pad totals from front end thumpage. but to Voyagers point, dryslots are storm killers....especially in southern tier.
From past experiences IMOBY, by the time the deform swings through, the storm is too far north and if we catch some of it, it's not much of a help.

And I think that's why this is only an 8 hour storm.
3k is out to 37 now and...no dryslot, and in fact some super heavy precip moving north. Vast difference between the two wrt to sim radar.

12z NAM has a MASSIVE dryslot for southeastern PA @ hour 36...

I know you guys are kidding and take it all as good fun. If Snedeker is right, though, I just might see that 10 inch total...lol
Seriously though, my feeling and thinking is 3-6 at best for my backyard. If we stayed all snow, double digits might be possible, but I think we flip at some point.

WNEP 16 is being EXTREMELY bullish with their forecast this morning. Double digits for all. Not sure I buy it, but these guys are usually quite conservative, so not sure what they're seeing.

Typo, but perhaps it's appropriate with all the rain.
I thought you were doing a play on words, but it certainly is appropriate.

That’s very impressive. It has been an exceptionally wet year in parts of the Mud-Atlantic region.
Mud Atlantic...I like that!

As of 4:16 pm, Scranton had received 0.70" rain. That brings total precipitation for 2018 to 53.78". As a result, 2018 has moved ahead of 1945 to become Scranton's 2nd wettest year on record. A total of 53.71" precipitation was recorded during 1945. Scranton's wettest year on record is 2011 when 59.99" precipitation fell.
There are no official records or recording data for Tamaqua PA, Don, but so far today I have 0.68" in the gauge for a yearly total for this year of 66.14".

1.31" from this latest event which puts my yearly total (so far) at 65.46".

You're correct sir.
We have moderate to heavy at times rain in the Harrisburg area. Its a good thing too, We went all of Saturday without a drop, we were starting to dry out.
I was starting to think we were going to enter drought conditions...dodged a bullet I think...

You were in Bogata - my mother was born there. That’s one of the most out-of-the-way, why-the-hell-does-anyone-live-here places in this country.
I was, and it is...lol. But they have a Walmart, and a big plant (Kaytee) where I picked up bird seed.

How did everyone make out last night? Some solid bright colors on the radar.
"Looks like York got hit hard"
Less than a 1/4" here overnight.
Per the USGS site (I'm not home yet) approximately 1.90" for yesterday in Tamaqua...

I'm in Wisconsin right now, but it looks like another 1.40" or so at my house per the USGS gauge. What a crazy wet year. I'm pushing 65 inches so far and there's still just shy of two months to go.

Heading to Chicago from Lancaster and it was 77 in the Laurels this afternoon. Hit rain at the 13 mile marker on the PA Turnpike, and by the time I got past Youngstown it was down to 48.

Haha. When you were there in Pasadena, you were about 3 miles from my brother's home.
Cool!
I kinda liked Houston. Boy was it wet down there, though. I walked in the grass at the elementary school and it was oozing water around my shoes.

I know. But hey, we need the rain. It hasn't rained in what? Two days? Things are starting to dry out...

Tonight I find myself spending the night at the Bloomsbury TA truckstop in New Jersey. The irony of this is that seven years ago today I spent the night at this very same truckstop. The next day we got our largest October snowfall ever. (October 29th)...

Lol I am wondering who the first one excited over -30 wind chills will be.
It can assure that it won't be me...lol. I just had a glorious 4 day run south to Florida. It was 90+ degrees for three of them...

Sure. Next time we have a normal April with no snowstorms...

58.74" in my bucket for the year so far. Should be quite easy to top 60 inches, and if the pattern holds, perhaps 65 inches by Dec 31st.

Went to my grandson's fall baseball game tonight, and between the wind and the damp, raw temperature, I damn near froze...yuk.

Me too. The way Canderson worded it, I expected to see almost all of CTP with 5-8 and perhaps Turnpike to I-78 and south in the 2-5.
