  1. Working so no measuring, but snowing good in Breinigsville. This was about an hour ago, but rates are the same...
  2. I get the idea of snow, but why would anyone want cold air like that?
  3. No. There has been a change of plans and I will stay local. I do start the new job...yup...on Sunday, so this is why the snow is coming...lol. Basically, after the flight cancelled, I had 3 more big bills to pay this week and it scared me enough to re-think the road. I'd have run out of money before I'd have gotten home, especially since a lot of truckstops are pay to park now at $15 to $20 per night. Add to that the fact that I couldn't even take all of my warm bedding and winter gear without adding $90 to the baggage fee, and I was kind of backed up to a wall. I'm happy though. I do prefer being home daily, but most companies insurances weren't allowing me to come on board because of the bus driving. My water hauling former employer could and did.
  4. The murdered couple had a security camera on their roof which caught the whole incident, complete with sound. I saw it posted on Facebook and watched it. I won't share it here, but it was a verbal fight (of unknown reason) that escalated quickly out of control.
  5. If you look at the radar loops, there was a band of heavier snow that rolled through here just as I was getting out of bed. It was almost as heavy as what we had Monday afternoon, but it only lasted about a half hour.
  6. Got an inch and a half up here in coal crackerville...
  7. That Kuchera map borders on the ridiculous. I live on a narrow side street, that is last (if ever) fully cleaned curb to curb by the borough. that much snow on top of what we have now, and there will be fights over who puts the snow where. Just this past one I got yelled at by two neighbors for putting it on the banking that the plows had already made on the other side of our street. I don't live in the country where there are acres to throw it on. I live in an "inner city" environment.
  8. I heard a few shouting matches yesterday in my neighborhood while I was out shoveling. It's usually a case of, "hey don't be piling that snow there"...to be followed by, "well where the f*** do you want me to put it?" Then it just escalates.
  9. I just went through the whole flying thing. I was supposed to fly to Houston for job orientation, but the Chicago snow cancelled all flights into my O'Hare connection. Then the snow here finished it off. I'm hoping to go this weekend, but haven't yet heard from the employer.
  10. Agreed. I don't need a polar vortex with 15 degree highs and -5 lows. Seasonal is just fine with me...
  11. It sure did. The 21 inches in my yard looks like about 15 now.
  12. @Cashtown_Coop check out this video. You should recognize the area.
  13. So I measured 21.5" for the storm total here at 6:30am. It appears to be done as nothing but flurries are falling at the moment, and we only got another inch during the overnight hours since my last measurement.
  14. Out of forum, but since it was discussed earlier, check out these Lehigh Valley totals...so far. Lehigh County... 15. Unless I'm radar hallucinating, it almost looks like dry air is attacking the region on two fronts. One from the south and one from the northwest. The snow has lightened considerably here though during the last hour, so maybe it's real. Future radar builds it back, so I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. I did hit the semi-magical 20 inch mark, however. Not sure if I'll get the 24 inch holy grail, though.
  16. Old school friend who lives there measured 21.2" a little bit ago.
  17. Whomever said that some parts of New Jersey might see 3 ft of snow may end up being correct. Morris, Somerset, and Sussex Counties all have locations at or above 20 inches already...
  18. 14 inches and counting... Probably getting the heaviest snow of the storm so far, and if future radar is correct, that band from the Poconos down through Reading should back into here soon.
  19. I never saw this one before. Never mind a snow emergency, we went right to a disaster declaration...
