  1. Yeah, but it certainly doesn't verify the Severe Thunderstorm Watch/Flash Flood Watch that was advertised all day. As a weather junkie I want the big storm with the 5" per hour rates, insane CTG lightning, and at least moderate wind. It's not unlike wanting the blizzard jackpot in the winter. This place is the most boring weather location I've ever lived in, and that includes Phoenix where it's dry most of the year. At least the monsoon storms were potent, powerful, and impressive.
  2. 0.18" so far. Everything pushing Northeast faster than it's moving east. We actually have clear skies to my southeast right now. I don't think I'm scoring with this event either. Same old same old...
  3. I'll tell you, I honestly think the best events come when there are no watches or warnings or hype. It just does what it does. Everytime it's hyped up in my area, all I get is a letdown because it either failed to materialize, weakened, or split. And future radar seems to want to point in that direction. Most of the activity is depicted to parallel I-81 and fringe my area, with just residual leftover showers behind it.
  4. Lots of cell activity around Tamaqua, but not a drop or a rumble yet today.
  5. One of the most insane PWS's I've checked out today was in Whitehall Township near Northampton in the Lehigh Valley... 93.7 °F Feels Like 116.1 ° DEWPOINT 81.0 °F
  6. 93/75 here now with a heat index of 103. Pretty uncommon to be so warm AND humid up in my region...
  7. 90/72 for a heat index of 98 at my house. I decided that since it's so hard to get a good storm in my backyard that I would get mine and my wife's Jeeps washed. I figure that will insure that we get a good rainer today.
  8. Thanks! Indoor supper is already planned. The wife and I are taking a good friend out to dinner at the Tamaqua Train Station Restaurant tomorrow night.
  9. But where? Area wide, or localized to the LSV, Mason-Dixon Line, Lancaster area, etc.
  10. Need to get that Harrisburg cluster up to Tamaqua before it fades into oblivion... I don't like the look of future radar, though.
  11. We got something before I got home from work because I had 0.44" in the gauge.
  12. Up until March when I started this Tower City to Sunbury water haul, I had never even heard of Pillow. Now I'm through there seven times per week...lol. It actually looks nice and peaceful. I think I'd rather live there than Tamaqua.
  13. As I get older, I get more and more nostalgic. I kind of miss the 3 H summer days of my youth...
  14. I've been swing and a miss for two days now. Need some t-storm love for the Skook...

  16. Some new tornado warnings up that way in the past few minutes. Montgomery/Pennsdale area I believe...
  17. This is what it's like here right now at 3:30pm.
  18. We are still solid overcast and even fog on the top of the Blue Mountain on 309. We need to clear, and fast, for anything significant to happen later, but I'm not feeling it for areas east of 81 and south of 80 right now.
  19. I didn't see much wind damage out there, or in the Danville/Berwick area in my travels today.
  20. So I ended up with 0.88" for last night's event. This after an inch and a half on Friday. Whatever we get today will fall on saturated ground so flash flooding I guess will be a concern later today and tonight.
  21. That's part of my route tomorrow morning as well. If I see any damage, I'll let you know.
