  1. From my Facebook post... Just took a short ride around Tamaqua. Big tree down in the 400 block of Pine Street (cleared enough for traffic to get through) now though. South ward is an absolute mess. Power pole and wires down by the football stadium. Tree on a car on Penn Street. East end, some big branches down in spots. Basically the town is a mess. I'm not sure what blew through here, but it sure was intense. First big gust killed the power instantly.
  2. I got A LOT of it. Wind anyway. First big gust knocked out the power so I don't know how high my winds are/were. Garbage cans, hanging plants, and what not went flying as well. Didn't see any cows, but then again, it's pitch black...
  3. That radar presentation looks quite interesting. Will it get to Tamaqua or will it miss to the north. That's my $64 question this evening. As for today, we got up to 85.3 for the high.
  4. Oops... I've noticed many times during winter, checking the regional weather obs from CTP, that York is often the coldest reading in the region, including my location. Do they sit in a valley? My employer's shop does, and it's usually the coldest location in the local area.
  5. 81.7 for the high here today. Still 70.3 as of 7:30pm.
  6. 79.7 has been the high so far here in the land of the black diamonds, so officially we did get to 80 via the NWS practice of rounding up or down accordingly.
  7. 40's roll call this morning. How low did you go? So far here it's 47.1
  8. Two lines. Nothing spectacular. 0.65" in the gauge. Ho-hum, YAWN...
  9. After I moved away, the Lehigh Valley became quite the storm magnet. When I lived there prior to 1996, not so much. Maybe I'm a storm deflector...lol
  10. If I do, it'll be after bedtime. 0430 comes way too early, and I need to be rested to be safe in the truck.
  11. This is what kills me. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you guys are getting storms. My problem is that I never, EVER, get bragging rights up here. Everything splits and goes around, or just outright fizzles. We've not even had one good light show let alone any close in CTG strikes this year, or the past few for that matter.
  12. I know. I've been watching the radar. It bypassed us to the north, now it's going to slam Lansford to our east. It got dark and a little breezy, but that's it so far...
  13. I live right in the middle of Tamaqua proper.
  14. I can see the Tamaqua Split setting up already. First line misses to the north and gets Hazleton to Scranton and the rest of NEPA, and the second line that gets the LSV slides east and gets Reading, Lancaster, and Allentown...and then on to Philly.
  15. Doesn't look promising for storms tonight per radar. Thinking everything slide north toward New York.
  16. Of interest too is that for once we aren't battling overcast conditions. Sitting in full sunshine in Tower City at the moment.
  17. Thanks. I thought the whole scene looked really cool!
  18. Looks like perhaps anther inch of rain tomorrow for some.
  19. I don't claim to be a smart fella (although I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express one time) but I saw that Mt Holly posted on Facebook about isolated severe and a chance of excessive rainfall.
  20. And I have that area in this video (going the opposite direction, though) from Wednesday when I was dealing with Ida's remnants.
