CTP has this for my point forecast for what it's worth. Subject to change of course...
M.L.King Day
A chance of rain, snow, and freezing rain before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Thanks. That's kind of what I gathered from reading the posts. I'm working, so I don't have time to look at models at all. Just enough time while I'm loading to read the thoughts here. Plus, trying to do model maps on a phone kind of sucks...lol
While I was perusing Facebook a few minutes ago, I saw a Mt Holly post about the cold, the upcoming moderation, and then they mentioned the Sunday/Monday event, so even they see the potential.
Impressive video for the snow rates, but the guy shooting it sucks as a videographer. Hold the damn camera still for a bit and let people actually process the scene. All he did was keep turning circles, which was very annoying.
Yes...100% yes.
Personally, I think the forums should all have region specific moderators whom are knowledgeable about the weather and the geographical area, live in the region, are frequent contributors, and are generally respected by the members.
As for temps, it's the same here. We never got up to the 35 that was forecasted. My high so far is my current 31, so maybe we don't go over 32 at all. Can't wait to see what my Tower City loading location is going to be like tomorrow morning.
Having a pro met who's willing to post his thoughts on a public message board is an extremely valuable asset for all of us. What you are doing has driven many of them off this board as they (rightfully so I might add) figure it's not worth the effort to post and have to defend themselves from trolls like you.
Mike, I personally want to thank you for all you do here with your thoughts and analysis. It's greatly appreciated!
Exactly.!
I have no idea how it actually works, but it seems at least to be pretty accurate. Surface temp is rising a bit faster than I expected. Up to 29.5 right now.
I forgot about my drone app. It gives a wind and temp profile for flying. As you can see, it's 26 (my wx station says 28) at the surface and doesn't get above 32 until 2,500ft up.
