  1. Ambient Weather. I'm at my daughter's right now or I'd tell you the model as I can't remember off the top of my head. It's a nice unit, but has one glaring problem. No battery backup on the display unit.
  2. No. The temperatures listed are the calendar date maximum and minimum for the year. My annual average (both high and low), which I didn't include because I didn't have the station prior to May 9th, was 59.0F. Ambient doesn't list high annual average and low annual average separately. It only combines the two.
  3. OK folks, here are my 2021 numbers from when I got my new weather station on May 9th. I won't include anything from the old station except for rainfall, because that was the only sensor that still worked correctly when it was replaced. Daily High: 97.0F Daily Low: 17.4F High Index: 109.1F Low Index: 17.4F High DP: 81.9F Low DP: 11.6F Highest Pressure: 30.64inHg Lowest Pressure: 29.21inHg Max Gust: 19.5mph Hourly Rain: 3.54" Daily Rain: 5.78" Yearly Rain: 43.94"
  4. I remember that as well. First the wind damage from the storm around Berrysburg, and then the area from E-ville up to Herndon being so green while everywhere else in my travels was starting to turn drought dormant/dead. Running up 225 for a time felt like being the Pacific Northwest or the emerald green of Ireland.
  5. The most impressive weather stat for my backyard in 2021? A heat index of 109.1 degrees on August 11th at 3:30pm.
  6. Enjoyed having you here. You are welcome anytime, whether you are in Danville or back upstate. Happy New Year to you as well, and don't be a stranger.
  7. My only hope is that it comes in after 4pm. It's a win-win that way. By then I should be close to parking the truck for the day AND it's a Friday and I have weekends off. That's win #1. Also, most snow would fall after sunset which would hopefully make for maximum "stickage" which would be good for the snowlovers. That would be win #2.
  8. Here is one. The dashed line is the PA/Delaware state line. The north half of the house is on PA, and the south half is in Delaware. Crazy...
  9. Oh, I wasn't trying to pinpoint your location, so you didn't have to post a map. I was just wondering. Thing is how is one taxed by living literally in two different states?
  10. I'm a map junkie and I peruse the Google satellite maps a lot. I'm surprised at how many properties do literally straddle state lines. In some, the state line cuts right through the house so that (for example) literally one would cross from PA into Maryland just by simply walking from their living room into the kitchen. Is your deal that literal?
  11. Is it dry there? Here it's relatively mild at 48 degrees, but it's still dark, gray, and misty/foggy. Certainly not nice enough to sit outside and eat.
  12. Well I get that, but I was only responding to a post agreeing to what was said, as I'm currently experiencing it. I wasn't trying to push a pro or anti vaxx position or posting misinformation.
  13. Ah, you figured me out. I'm actually a mad scientist when I'm not hauling water. I've finally figured out a way to use the mountains to my advantage and keep the snow out of here... Seriously though, see my post above. I've been feeling under the weather (pun intended) this past week, and the weather we currently have is quite depressing. I'll take snow, rain, or bright sunshine over this crap...
  14. If I lived in a climate where it snowed that much, and I had that much buildup on my roof every year, I'd seriously look into having a heated roof and keep it melted off.
  15. I know, right? Is it considered a bust if the fog forms five minutes earlier or later than the specified time???
  16. One of them is going to verify. Winter can't be a total shut out...can it?
  17. I didn't get out of the mid 40's on both those days.
  18. It's interesting. There's ice on my fence rails, the powerlines, the parked cars, and even one small icicle on each wind cup on my weather station, yet my temp is reading 32.7 right now. How is there active freezing rain at a nearly 33 degree temperature?
  19. Looks like I made it home just in time. Raining here and 32.4 degrees. Power lines and my mother in law's car already have a glaze on them.
