  1. I'm thinking 2-3" of slush for us lowlanders. The hills should see a real snow event, 6" or so. The LES afterwards could be of more impact, if it materializes.
  2. That's an obligatory snow graphic just to mock CNY right to the death of the season. :)
  3. I've learned to ignore the ensembles. When the whole model is wrong, looking at various permutations of wrong doesn't mean much.
  4. Nice solid cold rain an 39F here this a.m. Feels like...dare I say... *Dare, Dare!* DECEMBER!
  5. Nanny state at work. How absurd. Does the nonsense ever stop?
  6. Bring the heat! I want subnucleate boiling in my pool by June.
  7. I had a similar nasty virus of some sort when i got back from Europe in November 2019...lasted about 3 weeks. Sinusitis like symptoms and basically felt like walking pneumonia. Took forever to shake it. Antibiotics didn't work. I don't think they did a flu test as this was right before covid erupted. After the fact, I wondered whether i might have actually had covid as I was around a lot of Chinese tourists in Prague (of all places!). I got tested for antibodies in May 2020 but it was negative. Got my 1st Pfizer jab last weekend. Sore arm for a day but the whole process went really well at the State Fairgrounds. 2nd shot in 3 weeks.
  8. Syracuse largest snow shortfall among primary climate stations in east I give this winter a D-. Can't go "F" because there have been worse winters for snowfall. I decided to lower the grade from "D" to "D-" as a result of last weeks atrocity. Fight Me.
  9. Well, I think we've demonstrated that myself and @TugHillMatt are not (entirely) the Jonahs causing snowfall after snowfall to bust in Syracuse area this season! Chilly breezy and cloudy here in SECT this a.m. I brought the weather along for the ride ...
  10. I kind of hope this busts. I'd hate to think that one of the very few snowstorms to affect the Syr area, and actually delivers the goods, occurs while i'm away. I may lower my grade for this season from D to D- if that happens.
  11. Deep thoughts: If we are not here for the storm...did it really happen?
  12. I'll be in CT later this week for my kid's return from deployment on his submarine. With Matt and I out of town you can lock this one in!
  13. Look at the damage @TugHillMatt is doing to our local Syr averages! I expect we'll be getting challenged by NYC for seasonal snow totals in a few years!
  14. I don't throw in the towel hoping for a snowstorm till April Fools Day. But after that...bring the heat. Of course it seems that April and May have been problematic in the recent past more often than not.
  15. We've had an ideal snowpack melt so far, gradual with no huge rains to cause flooding and other problems. It looks to get wetter and maybe whiter next week. I need another moderate snowstorm to get to 80", which still isn't quite last years total but would be reasonably close, and various models are hinting that could happen. Which still was some 40" below average for the season.
  16. I hear ya, its def not the same without the crowd. Soccer crowds are way more impactful then american football crowds on the whole as they are way more active, so its disrupted a lot of dynamics that we usually see. It's really noticeable for my team, Borussia Dortmund, in Germany, as they have the largest average attendance of any soccer team in the world and have the Yellow Wall in the south end of the stadium, which is a HIIT cardio workout to watch a match there. The game atmosphere is wild, tickets inexpensive and so is the Bier! And you don't see the asinine drunken behavior that American football fans bring (looking at you Bills fans). Tickets hard to get for inside the Wall itself, but i try to get there to see them every year. Following on tv with fan noise piped in just makes me sad.
  17. Really tired of seeing soccer matches in europe with no fans. It's such a key part of game atmosphere. But they seem to be having more problems with covid than here.
  18. Oooh. Think of the children! Think of the people afraid of their own shadows! Stay Home, Save Lives! Be Insane Forever!
  19. Remember when he was yowling that he needed 50,000 Ventilators, STAT! #GoodTimes
  20. I had a lucky GME trade today...bought at $241 yesterday and let it ride o/night. This a.m. I put in a Limit sell order for $305 which got filled late morning. Then it goes to $330+ and I'm sort of kicking myself when I went to the store...only to get an alert that it was cratering to $180 and halted at least twice. Then I felt like a genius! LOL. I see it has since bounced, was back at $268. You know any parabolic rise is going to have a violent end... no DIAMOND HANDS here.
  21. Finally feels decent outside. Bit sad seeing the snowpack melt but its gotta happen sometime...
