  1. We had a few pingers right at the start. So there's a T of frozen precip for the daily log.
  2. So you're telling me there's a chance for a down home ol' fashioned SizzleMas?
  3. Maybe a pool and umbrella drinks? I'm driving around cow country trying to locate power outage sources. Blech.
  4. I'm on storm Duty out-of Watertown Sunday. Be nice and maybe you'll get ur power back faster.
  5. I was preoccupied last night but we ended up with 3.5" w/ 0.32" LE. Not bad overall...about 9" the past 72 hrs. Just saw the latest op GFS run...4 cutters and torching in the east for the most part. Maybe a couple chances of some brief lake effect but wow...no help from synoptic systems. High chances we get to XMas well under average for snowfall. Again.
  6. Wow. Sounds like you live in a similar area to mine in terms of "sort of" rural / country setting with limited neighbors, and i have a Husky on an invisible fence that covers 4 acres roughly. Good thing you got cameras now. I've thought about doing same as I have one neighbor that seems odd, which is fine... but sometimes i wonder how many people he has locked in his basement.
  7. Picked up the big 5.0" yesterday early to roughly even out our snow events as I mostly missed the 6-8" you had a week ago. Same comditions now though...window dressing snowfall today it appears. That's fine. Cleaning my golf clubs for the big Sizzle that's coming!
  8. I wanted till it was over here. 5.0" snow. Finally something worth measuring.
  9. My PnC: New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Getting excited and Giddy! Buwahaa!
  10. Yeah I've been exercising at home lately again. I figure an ounce of prevention...
  11. So what you're saying is we can expect wall-to-wall Sizzle this winter! Frankly, that's OK with me. If we're going to go low, get in the gutter!
  12. Yes, heard a similar comment. I mentioned it's only the top of the volcano basically and that it happens every few years. Confused but slowly comprehending face in response...
  13. What a glorious morning of Sizzle here near the Cuse, 50 degrees! These are truly the salad days of December.
  14. +12C anomaly...that'll be widespread well into the 50s F and dare I say (Dare Dare!) Maybe some 60's F! Potential December golf day. Some drizzle here now. How festive.
  15. When I was in Amsterdam and Berlin last month, the places that checked vax documents gave it a decent look. Although, maybe bc I didn't have a vax QR code they could just scan so our CDC cards were a bit interesting to them. I certainly timed my vacation to Europe well as restrictions were loosened after the Spring/Sumner. You needed to be vax'd to get into many places (or have proof of recovery document) and a fair bit of mask wearing but mainly only on public transport. Now, the clampdown appears to be back, along with rising cases..
  16. Saw a piece yesterday that the South African Dr's that are directly involved with Omicron are more than a bit taken aback at the global reaction. Their initial clinical obs are that it looks more virulent but no indication that its more deadly. Almost all of their O cases are mild. Which...glass is half full here...could be good news long term if a less deadly strain became dominant. To early to tell but the freakout is telling...about the world...
  17. I'm going to guess that the past 2 winters being well below norm snowfall (for most of us) has resulted in some mean reversion thinking for this winter. Can't say that I'd disagree with the thought...
  18. Picked up 0.8" of snow yday, mood snow...total of about an inch and a half over a couple of days. Looks wintry out there even if the totals aren't noteworthy. At SYR, November avg is about 9.6" and we are under that but I'd imagine the standard deviation on Nov snowfall here is pretty big. Seems like boom or bust usually. Edit: SYR Nov snowfall similar idea to what @DeltaT13 just posted above.
  19. 12Z GFS looks like a few chances for dustings of snow and 2 heavier synoptic rainfall events over the next two weeks with indication of genuine Sizzle out beyond Day 7. Right on schedule for the Sizzlemas Season again! Will be great weather to shop for pool supplies on sale!
