1.5" /0.09" totals. Fluffy snow...16.7:1 ratio...the sublimation vs snowmelt vs incoming rain Nowcast can officially begin for a "white christmas"...

Heavy dusting here. Maybe 1/4-1/2". Big question is whether it sublimates away or is melted by the Xmas rain. Close call on this. It'll be a Nowcast for sure.

My "snowpack" is sublimating away today. I think the back pool deck may retain some snow/ice into Xmas morning. White Christmas! if only I lived in a real snowbelt like Mt. Tolland.

You just know the pattern will have shifted by then. Rockies will be melting while we "enjoy" our traditional late season snow showers and well below avg temps from mid March into the April timeframe.

But It does feel like we are the NY Mets losing 12-1 in the 2nd inning or the NY Giants down 17-3 in the 1st Quarter...I've become all too accustomed to both of those realities in recent years.

Now if we could just get this pattern to lock in for spring and summer we'd be in business.

Agree. Fair response. I do get the intent given the vitriol that gets spewed by keyboard warriors. Randy is a decent person from past exchanges w/ him over the years. May have met him once on a LES chase. Though the point made by @vortmax is well taken regarding our subforum OT discussions, which have been in general civil, for the reasons mentioned. IMO. The OT forum and particularly anything AMPOL are cesspools to be avoided by clear thinking people.

That was a great winter. December no shows and only about 50" of snow at SYR for entire season but we hit -23F on Valentines Day. Which was shocking for a one off out of nowhere.. Other than that pretty easy to take. Lots of golf in Dec & March. I say this is the new normal we want and deserve.

So basically we're getting screwed out of epic warm and wild weather. Sadface.

The only real snow is I-95 gruel. All others are impostors.

Check out Antartica for your record cold fix. Just don't move there as you'll probably cause the entire ice sheet to melt in short order. Bit OT but sort of fits the general convo here: Being older than many here, and having observed and lived through long stretches of shite winters that didn't become "the new normal", I keep most of my powder dry on "that" subject. Though some stats on the subject are compelling IMO. I do wonder how much our perceptions are changed due to the effect of today's pandemic world of upset and controversy. Becomes much easier to accept the notion that everything is changed / in turmoil as we are conditioned by events and narratives to "believe" things that fit the general tone. And I say this more in reference to non-wx enthusiasts i converse with out in the "real world."
