Just dont move to south charlotte/union county. Even when charlotte cashes in, we get nothing. Basically always below the snow line...atleast we have been for the 6 years ive lived here

Brad p's final call map inched the snow amounts back north a little after he brought them south a little last night. Jas the entirety of mecklenburg county in 2-4 range when last night he had charlotte metro almost in the 4-8 range

Pretty much every tv met missed that one. I was in the 8+ inch zone within hrs of the event and ended up with rain and some flurries.

Im from person county...trust me...the people there know to add a couple inches atleast to whatever wral calls for.

I mean...hes a 30+ year met. I dont think just because NWS puts out their call that it affects his thoughts that much.

Haha, ive lived in the CLT area for 8 years now. There hasnt been one storm where there wasnt a world of speculation about what was going to happen just hours before it happened. There have also been more storms that busted than actually produced. Its just this area...you are always going to be riding the line. Always

Same here in south Charlotte. Ill be happy with a cold rain at this point

Id say instead of warning them to not get excited about snow...to be excited for what snow does fall. If your son finds 1" to be exciting...then be excited.

I live just south of charlotte. I cant remember the last time we got more snow than my parents who live in raleigh

Ill stick with the latest gfs run...has me getting 2 inches or less with around a foot about 20 miles to my north and west. Exactly what id expect

I grew up in roxboro. Now i live just south of Charlotte. You know how they say, "its best to be where you can smell the rain"? Well im always where i can smell the snow. I didnt know how good i had it as a kid.

Haha...i live on the 1-2 line...every storm...every time. I fully expect it to play out just like that

Ive been in the exact same area for the last 7 years. Seems that every snowstorm that comes through is a 33 degree rain while 15 miles away gets dumped on. Did get a nice little 2-3 inch storm last winter. Hopefully this one keeps moving south. Though ill take a cold rain over ice 100% of the time

Yes. I've been at 32/33 all day and have zero snow on roads. 20 miles northwest roads are covered where its 29/30.

One of the bigger problems is that Mets put out these "call maps" multiple days ahead of the actual storm, and then they change them multiple times between their first one and the storms arrival. In that time, all kinds of things change in the models and even the models have no f'ing idea what is going to happen. So by the time the storm gets here, basically everyone in the area has been told at one point or another they are going to get a meaningful snowfall when you know that is not humanly possible except once every decade or two. But they keep doing this year in and year out because SNOW gets ratings and SNOW gets hits to websites. And the only thing that gets bigger ratings and bigger hits is BIGGER snow storms for EVERYONE! Id love for mets to just say, "You know what, this area of the state has a chance for a significant snowfall" and leave it at that. No call maps, no "this area is going to get 6-8 inches" 3 days ahead of the storm. Just give us a warning and leave it at that. But it'll never happen because that doesn't sell ratings.

its like we just don't learn year after year. The same things keep happening and we just keep expecting different.
