  1. Exactly why I blow out my own irrigation. companies want to do it way too early. I just wait until they are all done and rent a compressor in early November
  2. Had a flock of turkeys in the yard last evening. the adults flew up to roost in an oak tree out back. They shook the branches when they landed in the tree making it rain acorns like a mo fo

  7. Imagine enjoying working on the lawn and taking pride in your accomplishments.
  8. pre-emergent is best applied around the time when the forsythias bloom. A second treatment is ok about 6-8 weeks later
  9. August wraps with just under 7” of rain, and 3 days of 90+ temps. didn’t hit 90 after 8/3. it was somewhat humid though, with some real nice dry days the last week or so.
  10. good thinking. I didn’t have bad crabby this year which is odd because usually it is worse when it is hot and dry, like June and July was. wrapped up my aerating and overseeding this morning. Pennington coats their seed with green shit, and it kept clogging up the tow-behind spreader, so it was a PITA. but it is done. No mowing for 3 weeks. just a heads up, now that I have put down seed, it’s probably not going to rain for a while.
  11. Over seeding in the spring is a bad idea. That is best in the fall, like now. Over seeding in the spring let’s the weed seeds get right into the soil.
  12. Beer. that guy was definitely drinking beer.
  13. That’s what I did. I still have pile of sticks and branches from last winter/spring to get rid of so I burned 3 hours worth. it was cloudy and not all that warm all day, so the warmth from the fire was nice. Downside of burning that crap is it takes about 15 minutes to get rid of a cart full of stuff. So it’s work, but the beer helped
  14. 68/64 closing in on 1/2” rain. I hope the humidity humpers are out and about and enjoying this magnificent weather
  15. Holy non-torch, Batman. high here was 74, saw the sun for less than 15 minutes all day. that said, the guys working on the siding on my house were not displeased
  16. not since breakfast let him go, he is just trolling for a reaction, just like 90+% of his posts
  17. on what planet does 80 degrees feel chilly?
  18. wow that’s a crazy amount of rain. Got a little more than an inch down here, and I’m ok with that. Don’t need the deluge
  19. Yawn. aside from epic dews yesterday and last night, this was a total snoozer with less than an inch of rain with zero wind.
