  1. Welcome to the regulated world of gas cans. they are designed to prevent you from catching on fire from spilled gas. and they suck
  2. this time of year, during the rainy season i keep mine at 2.5". mid-summer or when it is drier i keep it at 3". 4" is way too high for my tastes
  3. i had the same thing going on. i stabbed a driveway marker in a few spots to see if it would help it drain out. it did not, but that was probably because it hit what i am pretty sure is ice about 6-8" down. no wonder it can't drain.
  4. saw a few pellets at work in Cambridge at around 8:30 this AM. was weird, since it didn't feel very cold out.
  5. the downside with rocks is inevitable weed growth. I am sure you put a barrier underneath it, but weeds, especially crabgrass don’t need much sand/dirt/soil to grow. So with rocks you have to constantly pull weeds and/or spray them with chemicals. mulch itself acts as a weed barrier, assuming you put down a heavy layer. I agree that they look good at first though
  6. make sure you have a solid plan for watering that grass seed, otherwise it will be a waste of time and money.
  7. yeah, it usually takes about 0.25" of rain for that to happen.
  8. without being able to totally zero in on that location, the area right around it is over 2k feet elevation.
  9. Wind blew over my gas grill, and moved it 5 or 6 feet. Musta been a bit breezy.
  10. those of us with outdoor plans tomorrow are already disappointed
  11. nice! I might be going for the x370 for the hydraulic lift and power steering
  12. what model are you thinking about? i have an older LA1xx series tractor. it has been great, but am ready to upgrade to an X3xx series
  13. uh, you might want to leave super early, or not at all. WMUR just reported 90 minute drive time i-93 from Manchester to Boston. that is going to be a miserable drive for you
  14. up in CON for an appointment, 0.0000000” here, although I might have seen a flake or 2 an hour ago. could very well have been someone’s dandruff flying in the wind though
  15. THoP has the best pizza hands down.
  16. what's the big deal (assuming it is a big deal to the severe weenies). 90+% of the general public has no clue what a derecho even is, including myself.
  17. we get it. stop posting the same crap over and over and over
  18. well to be fair, the forecasts leading up to the event were in feet, not inches. the TV mets were going bananas.
  19. Our new Dover, NH posters would have loved March 5-6 2001. not sure how much the Dover area got, but not too far west/southwest of them got crushed. the route 101 corridor and south, I think some parts had up to 30". i remember being disappointed that i only got around 2', but I am not exactly sure what i ended up with. i was a younger weenie with no record keeping abilities. that was in the CON area.
  20. i was dressed in full snowmobile clothes (minus the helmet) and was fairly comfy. i chuckled when the beer guy asked me for my ID when buying beer-I was in a full ski mask. I could have been a 12 year old girl for all he knew
  21. i was at that game, it was pretty brutal. tailgating was just silly, beers froze as soon as you opened them, used coolers to keep the beer "warm", salsa froze too
