  3. i used to frequent a quarry in Rockport, it had a big crane hanging out over it. I crawled out on it to jump in the water one time, but i chickened out. It was seriously high.
  4. i am really disappointed in my lawn this year, thanks to all the rain. red thread is running wild, and there are about 300 different species of mushrooms growing. Usually I aerate and overseed in the early fall, but going to skip it this year. it's just too wet to mess around with.
  5. summer started out pretty dry with 3" May, 1.5" June. Since then, 15.5" July, 5.25" August, notso dry.
  6. .25" sunday, 1" Monday (mostly after 6pm), 1.8" deluge overnight, all of which fell between 2 and 3:30am. 2.9" storm total. Up to just over 5" on the month. soggy times.

  8. according to @weatherwiz, losing power is just an inconvenience
  9. no that is not true. Losing power over a long period of time can be way more than an inconvenience for most. possible to lose all frozen and refrigerated foods, people on wells have no water, etc.
  10. what's that structure? looks like an abandoned radar site in Chernobyl
  11. i could have sworn that we were told HHH due to WAR right through Labor day?
  12. it sure is. there is a field behind my house that has a ton of goldenrod. bright yellow yesterday, with tons and tons of honeybees.

  14. and both are shorter than the current Red Sox losing streak

  17. in NH the last time the case #s were where they are at today, hospitalizations were 10x higher. 35 hospitalizations as of today, vs 1,000 total cases.
  18. yeah it’s a perfect 67/66 with mosquitos out trying to catch covid from any and all humans. just the perfect summer evening. how anyone enjoys this shit is beyond me,
  19. i thought I read that the agreement was a handshake deal with the prior landowner, or maybe the father of the current landowner. At any rate, with nothing in writing, the court can't do anything for him. and yeah, I have a feeling that there is a story behind the fire.
