  1. i barely had any this year, where last year there were shit tons of them
  2. they aren't cheap, no doubt. but I'd have to empty my tractor bagger almost every lap without it. It holds a ton of leaves, can do the whole yard with only dumping 2-3 times.
  3. for those of us with lawn tractors, Cyclone rake is where it's at. made in CT, USA. I fire up that bad boy every weekend, because if I didn't do that every weekend, it would be a heck of a chore getting all the leaves at once. my property seems to be the place where everybody's leaves go to rot.
  4. same here. oaks are dumping. accumulations 6-12", lollies to 18"
  5. last year certainly lost its luster. although it was in the 40's early on xmas morning, still had snowpack. By the time I left my brothers house shortly after xmas dinner, the snowpack had been vaporized. temp of 57, DP of 56 nuked that pack in a hurry.
  6. so your user name is just Snow 1717?

  8. hey weenies, this is the New England sub-forum. no one here cares about NYC and NJ
  9. just over 1" of rain. lots of leaves down. pray for me.
  10. i wonder what their highest depth was. beacuse that's a lot of snow
  11. i don't know about your oaks, but mine lose leaves steadily from late-October all the way through spring. there is nothing worse than fallen oak leaves sitting on top of a fresh snowfall.
  12. JFC george. Enough with the blizzards. enough with the adjectives. not everything has to be severe or extreme.
  13. it is entirely possible for a person to enjoy the warm weather, while also looking forward to winter and chances of snow.
  14. glad we don't live there. 75 degrees, not a cloud in the sky here
  15. you aren't kidding. The company that installed mine charges $65 for closing, and they are in and out in 10 mins. they can probably bang out 20-25 systems a day no problem.
  16. i can't stand how early they winterize. no threat of a deep freeze for at least a month. i do mine myself, rent the big compressor, makes it an easy job. I just have to wait until all the contractors return the rentals-early Nov works for me.
  17. peaking right around Columbus Day weekend should make the leaf peepers happy. traffic is going to be insane.
  18. don't dethatch in the spring, you never should. that will just open space for crabgrass to take hold. also, since you just put down grass seed, some of that seed will be sprouting next spring. and yes, you cannot seed in the spring if you are going to use crabgrass control
  19. was it worse than the great xmas eve cutter of 2020? I lost 2+ feet of snow in less than 24 hours
