  1. arctic feel out there this AM. a dusting of snow, 16 degrees and some light wind made it feel pretty chilly when I was clearing off my brothers car.
  2. us weiners appreciate the explanations that the mets are giving in this thread. NOT speaking for myself, but part of the problem might be the excitement since around Tgiving about this beautiful pattern, and how that beautiful pattern hasn't really produced. then you have 40/70 (not slamming him, at all) saying he is expecting a relaxation in the pattern in January, and you get panic, since there are only 3 weeks left for this supposedly beautiful pattern. throw in the Negative Nancies like Tblizz and there you go. Tobin bridge, here they come.
  3. the kid needs to learn about Christmas disappointment at an early age.
  4. i love the part up towards Canaan where the trail goes betweeen the 2 rocks/small cliffs, from there up to the lake is awesone. but I love driving by Webster lake on the southern end as well it is rare to even get out before New Years. but this trail, most of it holds on to snow pretty well. it is an old railbed, so it is really flat and grooms well. there are 3 or 4 clubs that groom it, and they get out there early and often. there are plenty of trails off the rail bed, but they can suck especially early season. there are a couple restaurants more or less on the rail trail, so it is a nice shakedown cruise to get the off-season cobwebs out
  5. you can run with a stiffy? i always found that very hard your car can read? mazel tov-it's a miracle!

  18. one thing that i noticed reading here over the past week or so is that the GEFS and EPS have been polar opposites of each other. are they now starting to be at least a little bit aligned with each other?
  19. George, no offense but you think that every shortwave the atmosphere farts out is going to be a miller B
  20. back in the day, Smuggs had a great deal for college students for the winter break. Lodging Sun-Friday in a trailside condo and 4 daily lift tickets per person for under $300. a group of us (maybe 8-10 ppl) went up 2 years in a row, can’t say I remember much about it (thanks alcohol!) other than it being a ridiculously good time.
  21. how about Dec 2002. started out with a bang on Dec 5, over a foot of snow IIRC. then it all melted. 3 weeks later on Xmas night the gates opened up for a pretty decent 02-03 winter
  22. they should go to the local ice rink and get a couple of dump trucks of "snow" and dump it in the pond.
  23. there are only 2 things I hate in this world: people who are intolerant of other peoples cultures, and the Dutch
