  1. go for it-assuming you don't want anyone here to get any snow
  2. you would have to tell him what that is, first.
  3. 37 degrees off a high of 38. Ice on the pond outside my office* holding on. no geese in sight. sure feels tropical out there. *for reference, my office is less than 1 mile from MHT as the crow flies
  4. I just bought a whole bunch of new ski gear to the tune of about $600. sorry for ruining winter for everyone
  5. Don’t worry, you will be able to get another mow in on Christmas
  6. I had the same cab on my JD. i got tired of how the snow sticks to the plastic windshield, so I just sold it. it is a great concept, and does keep you warm and mostly dry. But it really sucks when you can't see out the front window.
  7. no matter how much he gets, his grass will be so long that you will be able to see it over the snow
  8. that 10/18/09 event triggered me. Was nothing more than a rain/snow mix with no accumulation here. then I got home and flipped on the Pats game, I was like WTF! First, WTF is all the white stuff on the field? And second, WTF is with the score!?!?!
  9. not ridiculous it was actually a good call. the roads were actually quite icy this morning with the sleet/snow mixed in, even down here.
  10. last winter I tripped UP the stairs heading to the bar for apres ski. new boots and tired legs were primary contributing factors
  11. today certainly feels like November. 40 degrees with a little breeze. lunchtime walkabout was a little nippy on the hands.
  12. mine are just about bare too. that happened quickly-like in the last 4-5 days. hopefully last cleanup this weekend
  13. the ignore button is your friend. he is the only poster I have ever ignored here. he brings zero value to the forum.
  14. main lawn is just about 1 acre. most of the other 4 acres is woods, but there is a field of about 1/2 acre, with grass trails leading to it that I have to mow (to keep the ticks down). mowing the main lawn takes about an hour and a half. doing the whole thing, trimming, mowing main lawn, and mowing out back takes about 3 hours. I also have to trim parts of the out back that is thickly weeded. Goldenrod, ferns, woody ferns, blueberries, etc. I trim the parts adjacent to the field, as i have a fire pit back there.
  15. you can peel the gas powered lawn equipment from my cold, dead hands. battery powered anything ain’t going to get the job done in my 5 acre yard.
  16. where is the torch that was promised for today? cloudy all day, high of 51. finished the lawn, had a couple beers outside and it was freakin’ chilly. I’m not skinny like @weatherwizbut damn I need a shawl like @moneypitmike
  17. not happening, James. You need to move several hundred miles south if that is your expectation.
  18. it is a winter month up here-but massive variability: average 17" in December over 20 years. and Dec snowfall does not predict winter in any way. last 5 Decembers: 2018: 4", below normal winter 2019: 29", way below normal winter 2020: 32", below normal winter 2021: 9", way below normal winter 2022: 6", just above average winter
  19. down to 30, lowest temp of the month. 88 was high temp on 10/4. 3.5" rain on the month-seems pretty close to normal, whatever that might be.
  20. How long until the NASCAR rednecks are forced to drive electric vehicles around in circles instead of planet-destroying gassers?
  21. dude, you just triggered me. more leaves now than when I started yesterday
  22. mowed/cleared leaves today. Made some giant piles of leaves to transport to the woods. took 3 hours. And now there are more leaves on the lawn than there were before I started
  23. Today was almost a carbon copy of this day last year. tons of leaves to clean up and with every little gust of wind they were pouring off the trees. I gave up by 2 pm and started drinking. There’s always tomorrow
