Fairly heavy rain with sleet in between Uptown and South Park. Just realize I’ve lived here since 2010 and I cannot recall a significant all snow event since I’ve been here.
I'll bet a lot of money that the north CLT (note this is not a mby post as I don't live there!) metro sees considerably more than a trace-1/2 inch. Likely more than the Triangle. Mooresville/Denver/N Huntersville always do very well in these setups.
This is going to be one where just south of Uptown CLT, we'll be lucky to see any accumulation, but at my in-laws north of Huntersville/Denver, they'll probably get 3-4 inches. Happens 2-3 times a year it seems.
Wouldn’t have helped CLT (most likely) but frustrated for y’all further east that this “coastal” isn’t going to get going. If this was a true Miller A with a costal forming near and riding up the coast, the triangle and points east would be getting a foot. Thinking that’s what the NAM was honking on in its monster runs.
Just took a great walk with the wife and dogs. Snow has gotten lighter, drier, and finer. Not snowing hard enough currently to keep up with melting at the moment. Wind starting to whip. I'd say we've gotten a half inch on the most elevated surfaces. Doubt we see any additional accumulation at this rate.
Down to 33 here in Madison Park. Beautiful drive from the office in Fort Mill. Ripping chicken feathers and just starting to coat the grass/elevated surfaces.
Looks like the back end is moving through somewhat quickly, but Brad P saying it could continue to 10 PM. Interesting.
Parents just sent me a picture from North Ridge in Raleigh. Ground and elevated surfaces completely white already. Hours and hours of snow to come. Very jealous.
It's coming. The rain/snow line must be more west to east through the Metro than north/south for some reason. Probably heavier returns coming from the SW.
Based on the CC, looks like the rain/snow line is moving pretty quickly SE through the update and N GA. Knocking on the Meck county door. Surprisingly, my in-laws near Lincolnton are reporting all rain at the moment.
I feel like 10+ people have asked (including me already), but can someone link the CC radar? Can't find it on the GSP site, and don't have it bookmarked anymore.
