  1. I hear ya, Waterboy. I'm from another generation. Probably yours lol. I remember the days of our local network weatherman flipping the board on TV to show the next map that was hand drawn. He also would use a pointer stick to show us the in studio gauges on the wall, like barometer and thermometer. Ok enough about age lmao. But I still get a charge out of chasing the next storm. Not sure when I'll outgrow that.
  2. That "weather on the 8's" was classic. Remember it very well. They had some great personalities on TWC.
  3. What a beautiful storm this was. And sounds like everyone in this region did very well. We don't get that very often. Enjoy!
  4. This was one of the best here in NW AR in a good while. It must have hammered down good after midnight. We have about 5.5 out there now still light snow coming. I'd say the NWS forecast was pretty good for this area. HRRR, RAP were spot on. NAM didn't end up that bad, either.
  5. Well, if you believe the short term models like HRRR we should build another 3" or so the next 5 hrs. That would put me at the lower end of forecast and on track. But, do those bands hold together is the question. They haven't all night in this region.
  6. Yah been watching that. We're just not in the zone this time. That NWA fizzle strikes again.
  7. Only 1" here in Bella Vista at 9pm. We haven't had any good banding at all here. We might eek out a couple of more if we're lucky.
  8. I think some of these media outlets jumped on the NAM. But, I will say the HRRR still shows 5" here.
  9. Starting to fill in now. We'll need some heavy bands to get to 4-6, tho.
  10. NAM is still a bit juiced this morning. Not that far off though from the latest HRRR. Both support warning criteria across a lot of the region.
  11. Me, either. This thing is changing by the hour and will up thru the onset.
  12. Gfs doubled its total liquid over our northern areas.
  13. Toss the Icon in there as well, for good measure lol.
  14. I read on another board from a met on there the sampling can be suspect on features over the Baja where this one is coming from, until moving into a better area. It's possible we're seeing better sampling now. More Pacific moisture, better energy, etc.
  15. This late in the game, fully sampled, if the GFS pops like this we're in baby!
  16. Let's hope it's onto something tonight. Do you have the latest HRRR run?
  17. Warnings and advisories are up. Let's see how this thing unfolds now.
  18. I'm afraid warm air aloft is being underestimated on some of these models.
  19. Ok yah been there before. Nice place. I lived in the Dexter/Sikeston area a few years ago and visited Cape quite a bit.
  20. Yes, I agree. And then there's the warm nose issue that is always mishandled. I think the 12+ on models down south is way overdone.
