  1. The ref was pretty lenient. He let some roughness go but kept the flow under control. He treated both sides equally, a fair game. I don't think we will here any complaints about the ref from either Iran or the US. I never thought I could hold my breath for 9 minutes.
  2. 9 minutes of more defense. Oof!
  3. The USA better get back to their first half form.
  4. I'm with you. I am looking for a win. The program needs it. After not making the last world cup, advancing would be a huge boost. On the negative side... USA doesn't score a lot of goals. Here is a general breakdown of their games this year. 13 games played. 4 wins, 3 losses, 6 draws. Goals for: 18 Goals against: 9 16 of the goals for came in 4 games. Average ranking of opponents in those 4 games: 83 Goals scored against opponents in the top 20 (Iran is 20): 1 Bottom line: they need to do what they are not very good at - put the ball in the net. Fingers crossed, because a draw is no good.
  5. Sorry to hear. Hope you mend quickly and your daughter doesn't have to miss any recitals.
  6. In this case, England ranked 5th and the USA 16th, I would think a draw is considered an upset.
  7. Now on to Iran. Must win. USA looked good.
  8. BWI: 19" DCA: 11.2" IAD: 21" RIC: 8.5" Tiebreaker: (LYH): 10.5"
  9. On paper, yes. USA ranked 16th and Iran 20th. But as Yoda quoted, the USA has 4 starters with yellow cards. This usually means they have to play cautiously lest they receive another card. And England is formidable. Iran knows they only have to tie at best if Wales ties or loses to England. They could play a very defensive game, clogging up the midfield and backline, relying on the occasional counterattack. A tie today would be huge!
  10. The HRRR doesn't have DCA falling below 33. A lot of the total snowfall depicted is not what is going to be accumulating.
  11. Is that the one around hr. 210? I've been too busy following my 1" storm and haven't been following this thread. Anyway, that surface low is moving fast! Atlanta to NY in 6 hours.
  12. I assume half of that is from the coastal? That's pretty wet. And just plain pretty.
  13. "Another member of the ensemble (CNTL: Control forecast) is at a lower spatial resolution than the HRES but at that lower resolution it utilises the most accurate estimate of the current conditions and the currently best description of the model physics. Its significance for the ensemble is that it provides the unperturbed member to which the perturbations for the remainder of the ensemble members are applied."
  14. Saw my first brood X emergent today. It quickly realized this wasn't Kansas and went back down into it's hole.
  15. Awesome job! Thank you for taking the time to put it together.
  16. Meteorolgical spring is only 9 days away. If no snow... bring on the open-window days.
