  1. Yes. We are still 29F at the surface way down here.
  2. Big warm nose on our 18z launch. I believe Sterling is also sending one up.
  3. All freezing rain. Woohoo. -- 28.8F (Blacksburg again)
  4. Sleet storm. Glad it's not ZR. Up to 27.6F in Blacksburg. Parking lot is solid ice though.
  5. We're all sleet down here now instead of freezing rain. However, if sleet lets up, go back to ZR. We're building a nice layer of cement.
  6. Ah yes. 25 degrees and all liquid right now. Nice knowing everyone. (Blacksburg)
  7. Radar is fine. Lots of precip blossoming in NE TN and NW NC. There was nothing there this morning. All is going according to plan.
  8. Yes. However, heaviest stuff still to the SW, so will see what happens when we get heavier rates. Warm nose on our RAOB this morning of around +1C above 850mb.
  9. Sleet/freezing rain mix in Blacksburg. 25.7F
  10. This is turning into a pure ice event in southern VA along the BR and foothills. A couple positives will be 1) the heavy rates will limit accretion. (2 coinciding marginal temperatures.
  11. I haven't really gotten down to those details yet, but a guess now that everyone along and east of the Blue Ridge mixes at some point. The exception to that would be further north in northern Virginia.
  12. I'll be sure to give you the obs as it starts here.
  13. Light snow just south of Roanoke - 2700ft. 32.8F currently.
  14. Shouldn't be much of any issue. This isn't like a clipper or northwest flow. Moisture flow is mostly southwest. Lift takes over and produces our precip as the vort swings through.
  15. Higher elevations should do pretty good. I'm 28/25 right now at 2700ft.
  16. Good spot for us down here, but worried about marginal temps. High elevations obviously gonna do better and maybe even slight accumulation, but think lower spots just see "white rain." Now if we can get a good meso band for an hour or two, lower elevations may do pretty well too.
  17. Just because they don't post doesn't mean they don't read the forum/discussion.
  18. The 0z UKMET really has me intrigued now for a quick hit sneaky snow event. Big improvement from 12z. Trends seem to be in favor of the snow fans so far tonight.
  19. Only about 50 miles from the epicenter here, but slept right thru it. There was some good shaking here from what I heard though.
  20. Very nice band of snow moving through down here. Hoping the snow/ice line will decide to setup just to my south.
