  1. My only problem with the BDL number is that historically HFD has averaged warmer Julys than them in the ASOS era. Now, low and behold, we have BDL pulling off a warmer month than them. Maybe it's legit, but things that make you go hmmm...
  2. Although if we plotted JJAS I’m confident 2018 would be #1.
  3. Summer 05 averaged “dewier” than last summer, but 2018 had more hours with >70F dews.
  4. Debacle was probably the wrong term to describe 07 and 08. I just remember the week of the 4th in 07 being cold.
  5. DC summers and Labrador winters. Scientifically it makes sense.
  6. Nothing like last year, but we have a few days to potentially add to this.
  7. I know that wasn’t there when I planted the tree a month or two ago. How quickly can they reach those mammoth sizes?
  8. Thanks for the advice all. Wish we could get some 40s in here...looks like torch mins for a few days.
  9. What do they do if you plug the hole? Just dig out?
  10. Muggy day, but nothing insane. Typical summer heat.
  11. I have some liquid permethrin, but I've read that will take a couple of minutes to kill them...sounds like a recipe for getting stung while waiting for them to die. My sister is allergic to yellowjacket stings, but I've never been stung. I'm not too excited to jump in there.
  12. It's right next to my newly planted tulip tree. I really don't want to kill the tree.
  13. Lisa got a pic. Guess I was wrong in the dim light last night. Looks like yellowjackets. Nuke’em?
  14. I think the argument was the amount of nights in the 50s.
  15. COOP site? Probably counting 1 cooler morning for 2 days. When I see multiple back to back mins that are the same it's a flag for that.
  16. Definitely not bumblebees and pretty sure not yellowjackets. Had more of a subtle yellow/black abdomen and not the vibrant yellow of a yellowjacket. I'll try to get a pic today.
  17. No berries that I could see. One of them has maybe a 2-3" diam trunk.
  18. I have a lot of that invasive glossy buckthorn stuff too, but these 2 trees look different.
