  1. Not much to debate down there this time of year. Scrotums stuck to thighs 24/7.
  2. With the way these d10 cold shots go...20s celcius sounds about right.
  3. Summer airmass of yore? D10 euro op for Dr. Dews.
  4. 12z yesterday morning. Thoughts and prayers to those on the Cape that woke up to a 70F dew that fell into the 50s toward afternoon.
  5. lol...a few 70F dews on the Cape at midnight apparently count.
  6. I'm sticking to my +1 to +2 for sites not abbreviated BOS and BDL.
  7. I'm leaning Northeastern Pine Sawyer for mine. I think that's the same thing Bob mentioned based on pics I see. At least it isn't the ALB.
  8. Here’s another one. Guy at work thought it’d be funny to tack this sucker up on the wall to scare everyone. I see they’re invasive, but what do they seriously threaten? Pines?
  9. Yup. I think that's it. Never heard of them.
  10. I used a clear plastic bin over the hole for that reason. It’s not perfectly see through like a glass jar, but it lets a lot of light through. I think they’re using an old mouse/chippy den though do I wonder if there’s a second or third entrance/exit. I may try what you said though with an actual glass bowl.
  11. Actual elevation as little to do with it. It’s the topography around the site. SLK is high up, but is in a relative bowl. So the cold just drains and sits in there over the lake area. Then you get a place like MQE that doesn’t radiate even at an elevation about mine, but they’re sitting above everyone else. Any cold developing from radiated heat loss from the surface drains down and away from them...probably mostly into the swamp pit at OWD. lol
  12. I went out with full clothing, gloves, and a bug hat in case any tried to get to my face. The hole wasn’t too active this morning...maybe a couple going in and out every minute. I have this little puff too for spreading powdered pesticides as I use the permethrin on the rears of my birds if they get mites. It kills them almost instantly and I know it’s very deadly for bees and wasps. This stuff is used for plants too so I felt reasonably ok with filling up the ground with it. My birds usually free range over there so I don’t want anything toxic to them in the soil. I also planted my tulip tree right next to the YJ hole so I don’t want to kill that either. I’ll probably remove the bin iver the hole in the morning to see what’s going on.
  13. BOS was 88/45 at one point yesterday evening. I think they were still 80 when I went to bed while everyone else was 70 or less. What a pit.
  14. I gave the wasps a dousing of permethrin powder. We’ll see how that goes. Saw a vid where someone used dry ice over the hole. Chilled them down and then suffocated them with the heavy gas. May try that.
  15. Only one at 945ft though and it can’t stay online.
  16. To be fair... GEFS were a little premature with moving the trough axis our way. EPS never had the cooler air inside of d10 until now. It's been fairly consistent with it over the last 3 days. Again, I'm on the train for these airmasses to moderate as verification time comes, but there will probably be some COC talk for a few day stretch after 8/10. Whether that's 75/45 or 85/55...we'll see. Hopefully James can get another spinner next week.
  17. it's actually pretty easy to ban you. just one click!
