  1. 43°...not too bad on the hill. 1P1 38° and CON 41° SLK 28° lolwtf
  2. With chickens...frigid temps + high RH = frostbite and possible death. Frigid temps + low RH = no problem. People worry about cold temps in their coops and close it all up to keep it warmer, but all it does is trap moisture inside. Those who know keep plenty of ventilation at the top of their coops without and drafts reaching the birds below. Gotta let that moisture out.
  3. I had a lone bald faced hornet that hung out by my fig tree and run all summer and picked off houseflies and tore them to shreds. Never saw more than one at once and I have no clue where the nest was.
  4. I saw a nasty yellowjacket nest at work. It’s like 5 in and out every second.
  5. I think you wore those yoga pants at LSC even when it was -25F
  6. Nice over the top warm shot on the euro. That high tries to fight it off early week, but gets bullied out pretty easily. It's tough to avoid the warmth when James Bay torches. I could go for a few days of 85-90 for a last hurrah.
  7. There must be some gene, or lack thereof, which makes it deadly for a small percentage. Figure those genes out and then you can get some DNA done and figure out if you're highly susceptible.
  8. Yeah I was tempted to flick the heat on the other day, but just toughed it out and then uninstalled instead.
  9. Op was warmer...probably still a few messy members in there in that d8-10 range. I think I'd lean on the warmer side though.
  10. Looks toasty. Maybe even low 80s up here.
  11. Probably more likely to die from chemicals leeching into your skin from sprays than from EEE.
  12. Yeah some people love to bury the root balls under a huge mound of dirt and mulch. I just plant the top level with the ground around it and then mulch it with a little bit of natural wood chips inside the perimeter of the dripline. Have you fertilized it this year? I’d probably spread some compost or aged manure around them later next spring.
  13. I just go out and don’t worry about it. If they’re to the point where I can’t get anything done I put my bug hat on and a light long sleeved tee.
  14. Wouldn't be surprised. I mean that's semi fantasy territory d8-10. We just wouldn't be super warm with that 1032mb high overhead and ~10C 850s. AN but warm days and seasonable nights. Of course it'll change 00z, we'll lose the high, and it'll be a blowtorch ridge.
