  1. GFS is keeping us wedged up here tomorrow and that bit of backed sfc flow is giving a little extra weenie lift over the cold dome. A nice 7" weenie jack around Gene with a good ~5" here. Then we chill...then we mild up. Could be a nice weekend.
  2. 2 more weeks and it's spring...no matter how much someone tries to tell you otherwise.
  3. They aight all things considered. The bigger pile is by the birds. We don’t melt a lot of snow on the north side of the hill. They get pretty high in AN winters.
  4. So do you set an alarm at like 2 or 3 am? That’s kinda fascinating to me. It’s like a weenie in FL waking up to track a d7 frost.
  5. 4” wouldn’t be too bad. I’ll be able to try out the new blower skids. It looks a lot like last week’s system...just gotta get the QPF to verify.
  6. It was overrunning. Who was expecting fluff?
  7. 93 had some pretty deep storms.
  8. Just had about 3 dozen turkeys in the yard. This isn't all of them.
  9. I’m not sure we knew anymore then than we knew now, but I’ll admit my memory of it isn’t perfect.
  10. Wow I totally overlooked that yesterday even though I looked at the HYD obs. I was so focused picking out -30s that I didn't even let my eye peek for -40s. Impressive.
  11. Wet bulbs are pretty low the next 2 days. Tuesday will probably be a net gain here too. I mean, if you start getting open spots in your pack with sun the next 2 days maybe it starts to erode a little quicker, but this isn't exactly a pack decimating pattern...especially for mid Feb.
  12. In the fall of 2001 all of the LR guys had 01-02 being an epic winter.
  13. Yeah could be pretty fugly for a week. Thaw it out a bit and then cheer on one last hurrah.
  14. CON ended up with 48.9" in 11-12, but it would've ended up their least snowiest winter on record if they had 0" in October instead of 23.0". But getting an event like that instantly takes the season out of the running for the worst ever. We did better up here, relatively speaking, than CON from that point on as well. 88-89 and 79-80 sucked, but at least they were dry. More CON data... 79-80 DJF-W 1.93" 0.43" 0.78" - 3.14" 88-89 DJF-W 1.05" 0.74" 2.05" - 3.84" 01-02 DJF-W 2.24" 2.01" 1.98" - 6.23" 19-20 DJF-W 5.45" 1.95" 1.55" - 8.95" So if it isn't going to snow, I'd prefer to at least avoid rain. CON has almost 9" of liquid and only 35" of snow to show for it this winter. That's really pathetic. I mean you're pushing a sleet ratio there for the entire season on average. At least 79-80 and 88-89 were closer to 8-9:1. 01-02 was another putrid 5-6:1 type winter with only 34".
  15. Any of you weenies know where I can find a roll of plastic material similar to what they use in these airpot planters? I know there's dimpled drainage products out there. The closest I could find from a box store was from Menards. https://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/insulation/foundation-insulation-coatings/superseal-5-0-x-65-6-dimpled-foundation-membrane/sm50150/p-1444444226423.htm Yeah, I'd have to drill my own holes, but I'd save a lot of money and could make the pots whatever size I want. Something with holes already in it would be even better.
