  1. Will be nice to see DIT again. Late Sep dews will feel great.
  2. Lots of good stuff from the raw COOP forms from back then too. The oberserver comments mention widespread coniferous tree damage right up through the Lakes Region.
  3. Not sure what software he’s using to upload to CWOP.
  4. 95mph at a Davis station...actually lots of 80mph+ at home sites out there. https://mesowest.utah.edu/cgi-bin/droman/meso_base_dyn.cgi?stn=F4358&time=GMT
  5. Nice wedge on the euro next week. Lots like alternating warm and cool shots. Could be wedgie season up here...kinda need more than a one day warmup aloft up here or else it’s a lot of that.
  6. 65/51 but mostly sunny. Starting to pop some Cu though.
  7. 9. OK...so a cross wind rather than a funneling effect. Makes sense since those winds always seem to tip tractor trailers over.
  10. What's the usual flow with that? Is it N-NE downsloping off of the Long Range Mts, over St. Georges Bay, and then funneling into the valley along highway 1 or is it a cross wind across highway 1 breaking from the high terrain on either side?
  11. Most of the trees large enough to produce seeds were wiped out by the mid 20th century. There's still some around today though so maybe they were American. There's Chinese chestnut trees around too which actually brought the blight over from Asia. Even the Concord Agway has 2 Chinese trees leftover for sale right now. I'd rather keep the Chinese genes out of the population though so I'm glad they're just sitting there without a home. lol
  12. A cool late Aug/early Sep with a warm mid/late Sep. Sign me up.
  13. Horse chestnut is a different tree with inedible nuts.
  14. Fortunately those are blight tolerant. I buy already roasted Italian chestnuts at the store. Yum-o. I'm pretty confident the American version will make a comeback. If I don't die from these migraines and diverticulitis they should be spreading back through the forests and producing nuts in the next few decades. The blight resistant ones just need the government approval. Gene and I will be waiting.
  15. No particular order... Mar 93 Oct 11 Mar 01 Dec 08 Torn on 5th...May 06 rain, Jan 98, Feb 94, Jul 95 heat, Jan 94 cold, Gloria 85, April Fool's 97, Feb 01, Jan 11... Tough one
  16. First 40s with rain here...albeit 49.9F. But I know you count that. Nice little surprise drink, but I'm starting to get a little sick of the water. A week of dry days would be nice.
  17. Kinda shocked at how much color there is in the foliage already. Took the ride home down 132 and there’s stretches with a lot of red, orange, and yellow. It’s not the meager weak tree stuff either.
  18. Gene is the chestnut. We have an inside thing on that. I need an emoji for Bob now.
