  1. I can't recall the maples being this far along in a long time. Even some of the oaks are starting to turn. Took back roads to go apple picking in Loudon yesterday and much over the ride was near 50% color with the swamp maple areas being at 100% peak. Lots of yellow in my birches as well.
  2. Low of 63F here...not too bad. None of that nonsense like up in far NNE, but of course they're fully mixed and gusting to like 25-30kt out of the SW. So there isn't much room for them to climb today versus down here. Already mostly cloudy here too. I'll probably top around 80F again at the casa.
  3. Gorgeous night. 70F with a stiff breeze. Awesome.
  4. 81° max Hope that death ridge verifies. Perfect weather for flipping to October. Was out apple picking today and didn’t even burn in this equinoctial sun.
  5. Actually 2F behind what we were this time yesterday. 71F vs 73F.
  6. 52.6° With thin fog. You can make the blue skies out through it...probably high vis at the top of the hill and 1/4SM in the valley. Should be another warm one, but comfy with the low dews and cooler start.
  7. Glad we don’t live that close to the equator like some.
  8. Perfect day. Warm and sunny, but the sun has no bite to it. It’s the one time of year where 80F is COC.
  9. The yellowjackets have been pretty active. They've been enjoying the fallen pears. Say cheese.
  10. Nice ranges up here too. CON 35 to 81 IZG 35 to 81 SFM 33 to 80
  11. It's a warm pattern. We'll get mild downs and maybe sneak in a cool high or a dead ratter with rain and CAD, but overall it's a lot of days well above normal. We'll warm it right back up to well into the 70s late next week. But we're done with 90F up here and the clock will be ticking on the 80s after this weekend.
  12. Glad we don't live down there. We'll sneak in some BN days from time to time, but probably average decently AN. Like this past week, we can sneak in some lower level cold below relatively high H5 heights at times. Looks like lots of 60s and 70s up here over the next couple of weeks.
  13. Should soar to 60F this morning with those temps just off the deck.
  14. Impressive inversion this morning. 54° at Gunstock and Miller St Park and around freezing at Bear Brook and CON. Got down to 40.9° here on the hillside.
  15. A day in the 80s in early October as bad as sunny 60s on Christmas? I remember a day in mid October 1995. I was home sick from school and remember walking out onto the deck in the afternoon to a blowtorch upper 80s. Felt great.
  16. Early here too. I know everyone loves it, but my 6” soil temp hit 57° this morning. We didn’t hit that until October 13th last year.
  17. check the banter thread...those halloween decorations made me think of you
  18. I'd be excited because we haven't seen that for 20 years in September.
  19. I do feel bad by ribbing Scoot with a comparison to Tippy and DIT in the same post.
  20. Yeah I feel like he's dealing with a DIT-like personal struggle on whether to remain a beach sand fly or turn into a winter moth. He started to pupate this past week, but a few 80s on the weekend and he's back to coronas and bikinis on the shore. But he's getting all mental Tippy with projecting it onto us when most of us have been really excited for the warmup.
