  1. At least we didn’t decouple and the temp stayed up all night. 31° right now so not too bad for the plants. Next freeze chance is mid week...then hopefully that’s it.
  2. Not written by Cranky https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8303393/Polar-Vortex-blasts-northeastern-record-low-temperatures-broken.html
  3. At least 5" in Randolph, NH today while DCA had 0.6" and BWI 1.8" for the entire winter respectively. That'll be another world for phineas.
  4. Looks like this patch of snow will survive the day into tomorrow morning. 34/20
  5. I don’t worry too much about the brassica, but everything else waits until about 5/15-20 and even then it depends on the long range forecast from that point.
  6. Back down to near freezing with big fluffy dendrites falling out out of a milky blue sky. Looks like diamond dust.
  7. CAR is on pace for their 2nd coldest May low max on record. This would also be the coldest high temp there for so late in the season. As for the snow..
  8. Snow/graupel in this cell. It's basically heavily rimed dendrites.
  9. 33.9° with west wind, some sun, and SHSN on 5/9. Pretty typical.
  10. Squall after squall after squall. Wind is roaring.
  11. Briefly hit 40°, but back down to 34.6° after a nice squall.
  12. Love me some observing differences... ...Rockingham County... Northwood 2.9 WSW 2.1 in 0700 AM 05/09 COCORAHS Northwood 1.9 WSW 0.3 in 0700 AM 05/09 COCORAHS
  13. I still don't understand the snow = fert concept. My lawn was pretty green yesterday. Even the majority of the rain that falls this time of year starts in the clouds as snow. If it's a nitrogen thing, it shouldn't matter if the condensation nuclei reach the ground as snow or as rain.
  14. I mean ORH tied or broke their record low during mid morning with snow.
