  1. I think we just had a heat burst. 32/8 37% RH
  2. I'll add that there's a lot more involved in the decision making now. Schools want to take no chances with bus accidents. Also, so many families have both parents working now so arrangements sometimes have to be made in advance for their kids getting watched. With internet now, kids just have their blizzard bags or online hw assignments anyway. They probably get more work done on snow days at home now versus what we used to get done going into school.
  3. It happened once for me and that was Jan 96. I remember waking up the next morning early and it was still a virga storm. It started snowing soon after and we got a quick 10" in the mid morning. Other than that, the joke was that if the headmaster could walk outside and not slip, school was on.
  4. 45% RH now. Pretty exciting obs up here. We’re sublimating snow while you guys accumulate it.
  5. Usually I shovel the first dinky event and get most of the rocks then. But I haven’t had anything worth shoveling yet. Oh well. I probably should invest in paving the damn thing, but that’s a lot of driveway.
  6. I did. I had them up all the way (An inch maybe?), but I didn’t want to leave an inch of snow on the ground. So I lowered it to about a 1/2” and chomp. I probably should’ve cleared the driveway of loose rocks before it snowed.
  7. Just to add the RH is currently 47%. CON has been around 50% and MHT near 90% with -SN. It’ll be interesting to see if the dry air oozes southward and shuts the precip off at MHT.
  8. Snowblower is fixed. I’m in a better mood now to wish you eastern weenies good luck with part deux. 29.9° with an occasional flurry reaching the ground.
  9. Looks like it's snowing decently aloft now while my 55% humidity eats it up.
  10. ha...really don't right now. I hate my new snow blower and quickly destroyed a shear pin and lodged a 3" rock behind the blade. It's one of those Ariens auto turn ones. It's a total disaster on a sloped dirt driveway. Any little bump and the friggin thing tries to start turning. I was tired of wrestling with the thing after 2 passes and then it promptly ate a rock that was too big for it to chew. So I've been out there shoveling all day with a pounding migraine. Winter can go **** itself right now and it's only 12/2.
  11. Actually the low off of NJ redevelops SE of the Cape and then bombs out in the GOM before getting "hooked" back in by the ULL. That sfc low/reflection off of NJ is actually progged to drift E/SE and then it gets slingshotted OTS as it almost fujiwaras with the newly developing low.
  12. 31/18 with a howling NNE wind. It feels like HIE here with 59% RH. A nice downslope dandy. Or is it a downslope dendy?
  13. I haven't really had any snow before this. lol I don't really care though.
  14. Shit storm for us. Oh well. I hope we melt it away over the coming week.
  15. Did you subtract out the QPF from 6z-12z this morning? Toss the QPF. 12z was more wound up and threw the band back more to the west.
  16. Some models had some weak fronto up here today that eventually gets overwhelmed by the new system in the GOM tonight.
  17. I think it was a hair east even though there was more QPF. 3k came west. So they converged a bit, but more toward the 12k.
  18. Does look a bit west of 6z. I'm out of it either way so hopefully someone other than the fishes get in on it.
  19. 3km NAM is pretty far east again. So pick a resolution you like.
  20. One more week and we'll be in grinch storm range on the op models.
  21. 3k NAM was quite a bit further east than the 12k. It's going to be tough to really pull the full meat and potatoes of the midlevel banding far enough west.
