  1. Wet bulbs are pretty low the next 2 days. Tuesday will probably be a net gain here too. I mean, if you start getting open spots in your pack with sun the next 2 days maybe it starts to erode a little quicker, but this isn't exactly a pack decimating pattern...especially for mid Feb.
  2. In the fall of 2001 all of the LR guys had 01-02 being an epic winter.
  3. Yeah could be pretty fugly for a week. Thaw it out a bit and then cheer on one last hurrah.
  4. CON ended up with 48.9" in 11-12, but it would've ended up their least snowiest winter on record if they had 0" in October instead of 23.0". But getting an event like that instantly takes the season out of the running for the worst ever. We did better up here, relatively speaking, than CON from that point on as well. 88-89 and 79-80 sucked, but at least they were dry. More CON data... 79-80 DJF-W 1.93" 0.43" 0.78" - 3.14" 88-89 DJF-W 1.05" 0.74" 2.05" - 3.84" 01-02 DJF-W 2.24" 2.01" 1.98" - 6.23" 19-20 DJF-W 5.45" 1.95" 1.55" - 8.95" So if it isn't going to snow, I'd prefer to at least avoid rain. CON has almost 9" of liquid and only 35" of snow to show for it this winter. That's really pathetic. I mean you're pushing a sleet ratio there for the entire season on average. At least 79-80 and 88-89 were closer to 8-9:1. 01-02 was another putrid 5-6:1 type winter with only 34".
  5. Any of you weenies know where I can find a roll of plastic material similar to what they use in these airpot planters? I know there's dimpled drainage products out there. The closest I could find from a box store was from Menards. https://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/insulation/foundation-insulation-coatings/superseal-5-0-x-65-6-dimpled-foundation-membrane/sm50150/p-1444444226423.htm Yeah, I'd have to drill my own holes, but I'd save a lot of money and could make the pots whatever size I want. Something with holes already in it would be even better.
  6. MHT never reacts like that even in calm conditions anyway. They’re almost always fairly steady with gradual rises and drops even when they decouple. After that quick 12° drop it reports missing temp data and then the next 5 minuter is back to the correct +5°. Looks like the low should be +3° so nothing close to -7°. When I lived in Auburn there was never a rad night where they were colder than me...it was never even close. The cwop Auburn stations were 0, -1, and -3. I was near Massabesic Lake and we often got lower than CON. Total pit there.
  7. The Masardis -36 was the coldest I could find on mesowest. Maybe there’s some coop in the hydro obs up in mooseville that was colder.
  8. Definitely bad. Something went wrong for a bit there. https://mesowest.utah.edu/cgi-bin/droman/meso_base_dyn.cgi?stn=KMHT&time=GMT
  9. First Lake NH -35F Masardis ME -36F Island Pond VT -34F
  10. -14F to -27F in 1hr at 40B. Someone will push -35F to -40F.
  11. I like the 7F drop in 5 mins. I like using IR to "see" the cold spots. Pretty nasty right over the border from MSS too.
  12. Those 850s are kinda meh. This shot is centered lower.
  13. First Lake and Lk Francis -22F. Estcourt Station -24F. MWN is -11F...one of the warmest spots in Coos right now.
  14. The chickens were not enthused this evening. 6.4F

  16. Probably a few inches here. Theme of the season.
  17. We’ve had pack here since 12/17. 20” in Jan too. So yeah, it hasn’t been that bad. Just nothing extreme.
  18. 10-11” at my place so it’s pretty consistent through the foothills.
