    For these setups with strong radiating but very dry air aloft (MWN very mixed) I sometimes take the MWN dew near sunset as the HIE low. MOS has that in the lower single digits right now. It doesn’t work too well if it’s too dry…like one of those rare sub 10% RH deals where the summit is like 0/-45.

    I still find this wild. MOS is hitting double digits below 0F in NNE Fri AM with +2C 850s. A min of 24° on MWN and -10° at HIE.

    Yeah…not calling you a liar. lol There was a better looking band down there at the time. I was just making the point that the majority of this is higher end -SN. Loudon was close to moderate (0.6 miles) around your ob time. It may have been better here, but I didn’t wake up until shortly before my first post.

    17.8/-1.6 today Cold, but nothing out of the ordinary for a cold winter day. I normally expect a good 10 days like this each winter.
