  1. 70.7° overcast Looks like there’s some convection in N NH and N VT that’s trying to drop SE. it probably won’t make it down here, but I wonder if that messes up the heating during the morning.
  2. Probably a combo of out of state travel, opening back up, and the warmth keeping everyone enclosed in AC.
  3. No records tied or broken today PVD 95 BDL 94 CON 93 MHT 93 BTV 92 BDR 92 PWM 91 BOS 91 ORH 88
  4. NNE crushing BDL for the first half of summer really made him insecure.
  5. MOS is still kinda meh for the next 2 days in the hot spots. I keep waiting for them to bump up, but not yet. I still say the numbers are a bit low. BDL 69/96 74/90 BOS 76/98 76/93 ORH 70/92 72/88 TAN 69/97 71/93 ASH 72/98 74/92 BTV 75/89 72/85 OWD 70/98 72/93 FIT 71/97 75/93 PVD 71/96 73/91 IJD 67/95 72/90 MWN 55/63 54/62
  6. Looking at everyone’s records...this last week of July is pretty weak for record highs. There’s a lot of 95-97s in the torch spots with a few a degree or two higher depending on the site. Today’s 95° for BDL is the lowest record high for July. So the next 3 days should be a lot of records evenif we “only” manage mid to upper 90s.
  7. Kind of a meh heat day. Lots of low 90s with comfortable dews.
  8. We did that a lot in previous years, but we’ve had a lot of hawks, foxes, and a fisher around. And no...no business. Just a weird hobby.
  9. Tried that. They’re terrified of it. We just water it down from time to time and they dig holes and lay in them to cool off. I doubled my covered portion of my run last fall and the bamboo has gone wild so there’s a lot more shade in there than previous years. Even that one 90+ day we had there wasn’t a lot of panting. 2018 was a stressful stretch...especially with the heat and dew combo around the 4th. Almost totally clear now. 83.2/66
  10. There’s Mediterranean breeds that handle it just fine, but mine are all larger cold-hardy breeds. Their preferred temps are probably 55-75.
  11. Mine handle below 0° better than 90°. When they start panting out of control there isn’t a lot we can do unless we bring the worst ones into the basement.
  12. Hooksett Agway had some dawn redwoods. First time I’ve seen those.
  13. I do but chickens don’t. And when they’re struggling my day becomes stressed.
  14. Definitely a swampazz line running across SE SNE. The hottest temps should be NW of there today away from the Atlantic taint.
  15. The euro actually sped it up finally to match american guidance.
  16. Wait until fall when it goes dormant maybe? Then try to get as much of the root mass as you can
  17. It’s only meh if E MA is left out of the upper 90s.
  18. I may start a nondamaging heat thread.
  19. 83.7° Not a bad summer day. 75.6/67 now.
