  1. Depressing day up here as I see widespread 30s ASH-south while it’s still 14° here. I’m ready to lose it.
  2. That low level arctic air is just about to start being advected in when it’s brushing the cape. Even if it came NW it’d probably be a race with precip getting shutoff/virga.
  3. Nah. I need to choose a new dr, but just haven’t gotten around to it going back to last fall. The free sites have been booked many days out and I’m not paying for a test when I’m just staying home quarantining anyway. The wife is on my ins and she was able to get a referral for one with her doctor so if she’s positive it’ll be enough confirmation for me.
  4. I got a call from my boss. He started feeling sick Sunday night. Monday morning he felt lousy, but tuesday he was fine. He took a test anyway on Tue afternoon and he’s positive. So we must have been passing it to each other at work. Now I’ve got the wife with coughing fits too. The cron is everywhere.
  5. -10° for Gene while coronas on MWN.
  6. Looks like he’s about to be whacked with multiple billy clubs.
  7. N NH was near -40° on 1/14/99 and by evening the following day they were into the 30s and raining.
  8. Nice WAA/overrunning event here verbatim thanks to that initial high anchoring in, but I wouldn't feel too confident about staying all snow in a setup like that. Just another dart on the dartboard for now.
  9. Light return flow here on the hill has kept us around -3° the last couple hours. -20s up around Pittsburg, but MWN is up to -6° with the steady WAA. Estcourt Station already -25°.
  10. Looks like some of those river HADS sites in northern Aroostook were able to decouple. -28° at BBR and -29° at Masardis.
  11. Yeah when you’re advecting -30s 850s into NNE it’s going to be real deal cold in the higher terrain. We’ll see what happens tonight as the return flow from the SW begins. There will be a better chance for the valleys to decouple if we can maintain mostly clear skies. So it’ll probably mean the hills have their coldest this morning and the valleys possibly tonight.
  12. Yup that was my stretch as well. I think I started fall of 93 up until 96 when I went off for college. Caught a lot of good events and cold shots during that stretch.
  13. When I was in high school I used to watch TWC every evening and write down the local obs in a notebook hourly along with my own obs. I think there was a part of me that thought if I didn’t write them down they’d be lost from me forever. Of course a couple years later and I’m up at LSC and getting all of the archived METARs. lol
  14. I hate on COOPs when you get a real cold min near sunrise and it counts for 2 days of extreme cold vs 1. Give me 5z to 5z.
  15. It freezes your snots faster than 0° but not as fast as -15°.
  16. The cold has moderated a bit the last couple of days. It’s cold, but a little overhyped. It’s more potent in NNE. -18° at Diamond Pond.
  17. Condolences man. I’ve thought about you a few times over the past couple of weeks after the whirlwind you’ve been through. I can’t even imagine the emotional rollercoaster you’ve been on.
  18. No change from yesterday. A lot of residual upper chest and throat pain with some coughing and phlegm, but I’m feeling stronger.
