  1. What about west nile? Should I be applying the bug spray?
  2. Beer? That would be my dream winter. An entire season all condensed into 6 weeks with mid atlantic climo around it.
  3. lol…where is the gfs finding that airmass late next week? EC, UK, and CMC not nearly as cold.
  4. Yeah we'll pull an event or two off here in the next couple of weeks. Usually when we got multiple weeks without anything it's due to suppression depression. It's pretty easy to sneak in a couple of inches from WAA or S to R/ZR. I hate how long winter is up here so anytime we can shorten the season and potentially compress it into a few fun weeks of deep winter I'm all for it.
  5. Not yet. I usually start them late winter under the grow lights and then tediously move them in and out depending on temps and sun so they don't start getting leggy. I didn't do any last year...not sure about this year. I have a bunch of pawpaws I need to germinate though.
  6. Imagine being a snow obsessed cop in NYC that hates warmth. Not much to look forward to...ever.
  7. Give it until 12z before throwing in the towel
  8. The real panic room is right here https://www.americanwx.com/bb/forum/11-new-york-city-metro/
  9. There’s no way you’re getting accurate measurements with that amount of wind. More errors than the Pittsburgh Pirates. And I’m going to assume they’re trying to catch the snow in the cocorahs gauge and not having much success doing it. Even the daily new snowfall will be difficult because you need to clear an area without it filling back in with blowing and drifting snow.
  10. Take all of that with a grain of salt.
  11. Let’s stick to weather. The GFS is pressing these cold airmasses a little more SE behind each front. 1/6-9 is a lot more wintry into SNE this run.
  12. The Titans are so bad right now that they should consider postponing all games until next season.
  13. GFS says to start the lawn thread on Jan 1.
  14. Seems like some kind of failure near the base considering “it was ripped out of the ground foundation and all”. Most of the 190’ self-supporting towers I’ve seen are rated to 90mph. I’d assume they didn’t exceed the load limits, but who knows? Did you ever get an official peak gust from CON for the day after the outage?
  15. Unless you’re saying there will be more of these events so they won’t exactly be anomalous anymore… idk. It’s just a lucky year for BUF. A storm and airmass of yore with strong CAA from the SW is perfect for them…it was pretty localized. It happens.
