  1. A -20° month at Death Valley is hot too, but I doubt that’s the term they’d use to describe it.
  2. Yeah it feels like that mountain west heat like in WY/MT where it’s pleasant nights and then it shoots up into the 80s with low dews pretty quickly. Rinse, repeat.
  3. 12z gfs is getting a little more aggressive with these cool shots...the one this week and a sneaky sorta backdoor next week that at least lowers the humidity a bit. Then we're in lalaland with alternating heat and weaker cold fronts, but it's probably a reminder to not stray too far from persistence just yet.
  4. Don't those beach grasses brown and go to seed quickly? They've evolved to grow in sand and tolerate legit droughts.
  5. Yup...mid July and it hasn't really felt like summer yet. At least not compared to what we've gotten used to over the last 2 decades. Even if it comes in hot and heavy for a few weeks the window of potential oppressiveness has been narrowed. I think it'd have to be balls to the wall heat and humidity from this weekend into early September to really change the theme in my head describing this warm season.
  6. That's the sink stopper/lever. It's leaking out of there or out of those black threads where the pipe attaches to the sink?
  7. idk...this one looks more legit with right now a mild down at best behind it. I think we'll see a few big heat days in that 1-2+ week period. Especially if we can tap and advect in plumes of modified excessive heat out of that Plains ridge.
  8. Looks like the bigger heat potential begins Sunday into next week.
  9. I used to DJ in the 90s and once in a blue moon we'd have a gig where the people were total dicks and when the night was over, and we were breaking the gear down, we'd quietly play the Rodeo Song in the background.
  10. I don't mind some country. Some of the songs can be fun. Way down yonder on the Chattahoochee...yeeeeehaaaaa
  11. Is that the guy with like a dozen songs about beer? Lyrical genius right there.
  12. Coldest I’ve seen is 33° at Estcourt Station.
  13. 49.5° here and a decent breeze still. Definitely chilly walking out in shorts.
  14. Looks like Alex got down to 36.1°. Probably just cold enough to get some frost on the roof of the vehicles.
  15. 59/43 Too much wind…even for them. 8-10mph sustained all night
  16. Tragedy When your dews are gone and the hoodie's on It's a tragedy When the morning shines and it's forty five
