  1. I anxiously await the tblizz "only got 1.15", but we'll take it. there was more all around me"
  2. Thankfully none of that 2" nonsense up here. Just a steady mod/low end heavy. 66F RA
  3. What about something with some showy flowers in the spring? Like a redbud or dogwood? A tulip tree grown in a more open space would probably get a lot more wide/full than you experience in the forest where all of the trees are trying to outrace the others to light. Those will put out beautiful flowers after a decade or so of age. They have unique beautiful leaves too. Is there any particular look you were going for?
  4. 1858 happened...but we don't really know what the official winds were in that even though the estimate is like 70kt.
  5. Maybe some monthly record low maxes out there as well?
  6. Euro with 3-5" for DV now too. Let's make Furnace Creek lush again.
  7. GFS has been kicking its ass sensibly although I'm sure the euro is still winning the H5 battle over Thule, GL and Verkhoyansk, RS.
  8. What a snoozer for summer here since that cold front on 7/29. 07/30 72.3 51.8 0.00 17 0.0 0 07/31 75.8 52.4 T 16 0.0 0 08/01 69.7 51.1 0.00 14 0.0 0 08/02 72.4 47.2 0.00 9 0.0 0 08/03 77.8 49.5 T 16 0.0 0 08/04 70.1 59.6 0.55 12 0.0 0 08/05 76.9 56.6 0.00 17 0.0 0 08/06 78.9 53.3 0.00 12 0.0 0 08/07 67.9 57.1 0.13 10 0.0 0 08/08 80.9 63.8 0.96 19 0.0 0 08/09 77.8 61.6 0.00 23 0.0 0 08/10 79.8 59.1 0.20 13 0.0 0 08/11 75.2 58.2 0.00 18 0.0 0 08/12 77.2 52.8 0.00 10 0.0 0 08/13 78.4 60.7 0.55 24 0.0 0 Hail 08/14 78.3 59.1 0.00 10 0.0 0 08/15 70.2 61.6 0.33 7 0.0 0 08/16 69.6 63.0 T 10 0.0 0
  9. The 1965 shot is tops. CON hit 29F in August in that. That 1986 one is next.
  10. +1C over Ray's head in August. Yore. Of course it will probably verify as +15C lol
  11. Still in the upper 60s at 1230pm. The GFS struggles out of the 50s here Saturday. Then a couple warm days and we cool it down again. BOS will have a chance to pull a BN JJA. Looks like some pretty extreme temp changes, for August standards, in the extended.
  12. But it’s all pretty much just brief blip readings when they record dews over 90°.
  13. It's tough to say. They're on a little island in the Persian Gulf. Dews near 90F happen. They were in one of those situations with mid 80s dews overnight and then the temp rose and then they dried and mixed out with easterly flow. The dew shot up in the morning with the temp rise, but I'm not sure what their equipment is and if the 97F was real. Sometimes moisture condenses on the sensors when there's a temp rise...or they had some dew evaporate off as the temp climbed. Either way, it's pretty brief and par for the course out there. It's been intolerable living out there forever.
  14. I think they have a tendency to canker easily. You'll want to prune out any growth that shows sign of it so it doesn't spread.
  15. I anxiously await the climate change stories with this.
