  1. Had some brief good downpours here. There must be poop in the gauge because it’s still slowly accumulating after the fact. Overcast, windy, and chilly now. 53°
  2. 40.7° Hopefully this next shot is the last of the legit cold.
  3. The gypsies appear to be really hungry along I93 from CON to Canterbury again this spring. They'll have most of those deciduous sections wiped down to stick season in no time.
  4. The black flies are finally calming down here. Probably just in time for the skeeters to pick up.
  5. 39F and rain tomorrow afternoon for Freak while the majority of us are eating lunch in mid 70s ?
  6. Bear Brook RAWS was 22F. I could buy that more than 19F.
  7. Maybe...not sure. That is pretty fricken low though lol. I often went a couple degrees colder than CON on rad nights and I was a little higher up than the lake. They pulled a -43F in Feb 1943 to CON's -37F. The COOP is in the boonies on the Manchester side though...not Auburn. I think it's at the Water Works plant.
  8. Eat your heart out Maple Hollow. 19F near my old rad pit in Auburn on Massabesic Lake that morning at the COOP.
  9. When pickles is in your area sometimes you can hear a rough-faced shag.
  10. I think it was "only" 82kt, but crazy either way. I was still stuck in Logan when that was coming through because of a broken radar on my plane. Fun times.
  11. What a shitshow on the euro op. Perfectly timed Sat-Mon
  12. Lots of pileateds up here, but we put suet out too. I think my favorite bird I’ve seen at the feeder is this guy. Only saw them for a couple of days back in 2016 and then never again.
  13. Top loses heat out to space. Bottom has heat radiating up and down from the ground. They’re also sheltered from the foliage above that’s getting fried. When you get a light frost have you ever noticed it’s frost free under the tree canopy yet frosted around and outward from it?
  14. Oh I know. I’m pretty sure it would come back up even after a nuclear war.
