I missed the 4 year anni of the 2020 storm. I may need to bump the storm memories thread.

I haven’t had a 30”+ event in 4 years.

Let’s not get the pattern too epic. No offense to our Mid Atlantic friends, but I could do without 5 degree cirrus while DC and PHL are getting pummeled. The snow has been respectable up here the last couple of seasons despite the difficulties down in SNE. Let’s just get it a little colder and a little more active and roll with that.

Imagine doubling your heating bill for a 100ft layer of cold. No thanks. -
The last couple of years have sucked for winter weather. Talking about rain and warmth in winter isn’t necessarily trolling. It’s just been the reality. The circle of trust, cold kumbaya can get old too. When it’s actually active and wintry we always amp up the moderating.

If you’re deranged and want to live in the deepest of the deep rad pits in NNE then choose one of these purple locations. -

Yeah seriously lol. I’ve heard of the 1” having to fall on Christmas day itself, but all that matters to me is looking out this morning and seeing a completely snow covered ground.

Yeah some crazy temp variations this morning. Just noticing CON was almost 10°F colder than me. BML -2F but HIE only +12F…clouds maybe? But yeah, that inversion over the next couple of days is going to be extreme. The deepest of the rad pits will be like 15-20° cooler than the hills. Thankfully I’m usually not that cold in these setups. The valleys can have it. -

How long have you been in VT now? You will be cryin’ for your mama if we ever get a real winter again. Your -2 the other night would be a warm up.

For these setups with strong radiating but very dry air aloft (MWN very mixed) I sometimes take the MWN dew near sunset as the HIE low. MOS has that in the lower single digits right now. It doesn’t work too well if it’s too dry…like one of those rare sub 10% RH deals where the summit is like 0/-45. -
For not using a ruler, she was really precise at eyeing 2.5”.
