    Brutal day. 43° and gusting to 35mph Yesterday at this time was a dew of 63° Haven’t seen anything frozen yet, but it feels close.

    42° this morn after 1.13” rain.

    My pawpaws are typically mid May and they’re starting to push bud. The tulip poplar is breaking bud as well. Mon-Tue should get everything into high gear. Red maples started flowering a week ago. 4” soil hit 54° yesterday and 8” 52°. So we’re getting to that mid 50s threshold for the pawpaws. Unfortunately I don’t see many bulging flower buds and I was hoping for a big year from a few trees this season. Maybe the -14° damaged some buds?

    Probably. I had to melt snow up here.

    Actually the forsythia did bloom here a few days ago. But the warmth and dews the past couple of days has everything accelerating.

    Tomorrow/tomorrow evening could get gusty. No flowers here yet on anything although I see some buds swelling. Hopefully we don’t get below freezing up here next weekend.

    Heh I didn’t do it on purpose…our old mower broke. That was the first run on the new one. Usually I will let it get a little long so that the clover flowers and reseeds itself, but not like the pic above. I wonder if any of that grass that went to seed will germinate this spring.
