  1. 74/ 64 and on way to upper 80s. Clouds likely in the way of a late season hot 90 at the warmer spots. Already area of clouds and showers pushing into C-PA and should arrive here by 12:30 - 2:00PM (mainly the clouds not many showers). Outside chance of 90 but likely capped 87-89. Riding the rim of the huge ridge centered over the TX/OK border and with it a wave of low pressure will bring some rain/storms into NY state and New England Mon PM Tue (9/20. Warm back up Wed (9/21) and again outside chance of a over performer coupled with recent dryness. Other wise the front and with rain / storms will cap Thu even with 850s of >18c into the upper 70s low 80s. By the end of this week and coming weekend, the coolest air of the season Fri (9/23) - Sun (9/25) arrives. 40s for inland areas at night. Warms back up by next Mon (9/26) before the next cool down towards the end of next week / Sep. Beyond there do we head back into a relatively overall warmer by a bit after the open of next month with riding pushing into the east.
  2. 9/18 EWR: 85 New Brnswck: 85 BLM: 85 PHL: 85 TEB: 85 LGA: 85 JFK: 84 NYC: 83 ACY: 82 TTN: 82 ISP: 81
  3. Up to 83 , mily skies and some clouds into NW/NJ. Slim chances for 90 today. Ridge centered to far into TX/OK and the Western Atlantic Ridge not ale to link. Shot at 90s on Mon as others alluded to and i still wouldnt rule out Wed (9/21) or Thu (9/22) pending on the front being a bit warmer then forevcast. Front comes through and coolest of the season Fri (9/23) - Sun ( 9/25). Back to normal Mon (9/26) before end of the month cool pushes in with trough from the GL. Will be interesting to see the extent of the cool down but some hints ridging builds back east by or shortly after the start of next month.
  4. Record heat 31 years ago back in 1991 with mid 90s. And just shy of 90 (89 et EWR) in the warm Sep 2015.
  5. 72/ 60 off a low of 56. Another stunning (weekend) day with sunny skies and temps in the mid /upper 70s. Warm up Sun (9/18) and Mon (9/19) with the warmer spots with a shot at late season heat/90s. Ridge balloons, centered near the TX/OK border and we ride the NE rim and with it some some scattered showers and a brief cool down Tue from the strong warmth before warming Wed (9/21) and Thu (9/22) with another shot at late season heat for the warmer spots. Strong front / trough come through Thu (timing to be worked out). By Fri (9/23) - Mon (9/26) strong cooldown with coolest of the season (so far). Beyond there warmup as riding builds into the EC Tue (9/27) with deep trough into the GL. Will see how much of the next cooldown gets east to close the month.
  6. 9/16 (highs) PHL: 79 EWR: 78 New Brnswck: 78 BLM: 78 TEB: 78 JFK: 78 ACY: 77 LGA: 77 TTN: 76 ISP: 75 NYC: 75
  7. 56 up from 47 lowest since early June here. More pleasant dry weather today and Sat (9/17) before we arm up Sun (9/18) - Thu (9/22). Warmer places with a shot at 90 Sun and Wed (9/21) /Thu (9/22). Then front comes through and we watch where Fiona goes. The cooldown next weekend 9/23, does look to be more transient should Fiona stay offshore with ridging and overall warmer building back in towards end of Sep / early OCt.
  8. Down to 58 last night and now up to a very dry and comfort 67. Looking gorgeous the next few days and this weekend Sat (9/16). upper 70s / low 80s and dry (open windows) kinda nights. By Sun (9/17) ridge is ballooning into TX/OK and the Western Atlantic ridge trying to link pushes warmer air into the region as heights rise. So by Sun (9/18) the warmer spots has a shot at late season heat, some storms / clouds maybe brush the area Monday before more warmth and potential heat Tue (9/19) - Fri (9/23) with peak of the heat spike Wed into Thu (9/22). Beyond that tropics alive in the Atlantic or GOM? Front comes through next weekend for a brief reprieve in an otherwise overall warm (hot a day or so) period.
  9. 9/14 JFK: 84 EWR: 83 TEB: 83 BLM: 82 PHL: 82 New Brnswck: 81 ACY: 81 ISP: 80 NYC: 80 LGA: 80 TTN: 79
  10. Think we still see 90s especially in the warmer spots Tue- Thu period, stray one on Mon off chance. Ridge balloons in the TX / OK area and surge of heat building into the Plains pushes into the area by Tue / Wed. Beyond there by next Fri 9/23 strong front and cooler next weekend as its being forecast now.
  11. 65 / 56 here and a gorgeous stretch of weather the next 2 days. Dry, bright sunshine, window open weather through Fri (9/16). Warmup 9/16 as rigge builds back into the east. Latest runs focus the ridge more south and into the Mississippi Valley so the blast of furnace like heat which was projected north of the area now is aimed into the area. So with that heat potential starting Sun (9/18) through Fri (9/22) especially in the warmer spots.. Peak heat has 850s in the ?18c range by Tue (9/20) and Wed (9/21) / Thu . Beyond that front is being seen by later next week Fri (9/23) into next weekend. Overall warm end of the month and last 10 days. Ridge returns by start of next month n the way beyond - watching tropical antics as well.

  13. Record heat in 2005 , 17 years ago with mid 90s in the area. And down into the 40s 37 years ago in 1985.
  14. 72 / 71 0.81 in the bucket since Sun (9/11). Humid with more pop up stroms later today before the front clears later tonight and overnight. Drier / cooler Wed (9/14) - Fri (9/16). Ridge begins to develop into the Eastern US by the weekend. Warmer Sat (9/17) with late season strong warm up and heat for the area between Sun (9/18) and into the following week Fri (9/23). 90s to perhaps mid 90s for the warmer spots. Overall warm last 10 days of the month beyond 9/21, there is some tropical activity returning on the latest forecasts by the way beyond into 9/26 period. Overall warm and a chance to rack up some late season 90s for the area.
  15. 9/12 PHL: 86 EWR: 85 TEB: 85 BLM: 83 ACY: 83 TTN: 83 New Brnswck: 82 LGA: 82 ISP: 81 NYC: 81 JFK: 79
  16. 75 / 70. Some breaks of colouds. Today was one of those could be sneaky warm with enough sun. More rain / storms later today and Tue (9/13) before clear dry and a bit cooler Wed (9/14) and Thu (9/15). Warmup as ridge builds in this weekend - heights rise and temps do in the (9/17) - 9/22 period with late season heat possible especially in the warmer spots. Looking like an overall warm last 10 days of the month beyond the 21st.
  17. 39years ago record heat in 1983 in the area with mid / upper 90s. EWR: 99 (1983) Record lows still in the mid 40s.
  18. 73 / 65 and cloudy. Ridge forcing trough and front from advancing much with scattered rain today. Storms and chances of showers the next two days Mon (9/12) and Tue (9/13) before front clears the coast. Dry out and clear up by Wed (9/14) with cooler through Fri (9/16). RIdge rebuilds into the East with rising heights by the weekend Sat (9/17), with chance for late season warmup and late season heat (90s) especially in the warmer spots 9/18 - 9/22 period. Overall warmer to close the last 10 days of the month.
  19. 9/10 87 EWR: 87 NYC: 86 LGA: 86 ISP: 85 New Brnswck: 85 TEB: 85 BLM: 83 PHL: 83 JFK: 82 TTN: 81 ACY: 79
  20. 81 / 52 off a low of 52. Split weekend, dry, mainly sunny and warm today - low/ mid 80s a few isolated upper 80s in the warm spots with a mainly onshore / srly flow. Ridge tight along the east coast as front crawls later Sun (9/11) - Wed (9/14) with rain chances. Brunt of the rain north and west as cut off head into the NE. Front clears through Wed and Thu (9/15). Rockies ridge pushes east and heights rise into the east with a warmer return by next weekend. Next shot at late season heat, especially for the warmer spots in the 9/17 - 9/21 period. Oevrall warmer finish to the month.
