  1. I needed the drink these past couple of weeks just trying to read the discussion thread. It has been brutal. There used to be a time when you had to absolutely know what you were talking about and could back it up before you were ever allowed to post in a pinned thread. People really do come here to learn, not just scroll and post how much in mby. People should not be all in their feelings because they were asked to step up their game in a discussion thread. They need to put on their big girl panties and step up.
  2. That wasn't so hard now was it You can turn off signatures in your settings
  3. Come on.....you can do better than this. This "back to the party" doesn't explain anything about what you are looking at.Is Dr No drinking the hard stuff? Explain better. You can do better than this. More moisture north, colder temps with precip falling. More interaction after the sw drops into the US further west that the previous run. Adding just a little substance explains a lot and it's why this is called the discussion thread.
  4. Then you should have posted another day/time snapshot to explain why. Step up your game
  5. I don’t believe I’m saying this........If the upstate could just get some moisture
  6. The orientation of the trough being more positively tilted doesn’t allow for the moisture to get thrown back.
  7. Yes. What we are looking for is just enough “dig” and just enough ridge to provide the convergence as the moisture slides across. Southern sliders are awesome things when all the players are in the right spot.
  8. Thank you bowtie I’ve really enjoyed your photography through the years and thought I’d join in on the fun
  9. Yea... I don’t get it. Thermal profiles still look okay (enough to continue watching) for sc and ga at this range. I mean it’s 120 hours away. The pattern is super progressive and the pig ridge never really goes away, no matter how many times it disappears on the models, so it leaves the possibility of moisture further north than what it shows currently. It will continue to change each run. It’s a progressive pattern, so many flying pieces to grasp. Will it be snow or rain? At this point there’s still enough uncertainty to keep watching. After all....that’s why we’re here isn’t it?
  10. Agreed and thank you. Explanations help those that are here to learn. That’s why this board was formed.
  11. He knows how to word throwing in the towel for himself much better than a one line whining post. You didn’t have any issues wording your explanation. Nobody else should either. I’m not asking for much.
  12. What the flying he*l people!? How hard is it to keep the one liners and whining in the banter threads?! We have 2 banter threads just for this reason. I know this winter has sucked. I’ve lived through a lot of winters that suck and I bi*ch about it in the banter thread. It’s not rocket science. I really don’t like having to call people out. Especially those that have been here long enough to know better. Come on everyone. Just do the right thing
  13. Why? Another one liner without any reasoning. Come on. You absolutely know better. The GFS actually took a small step towards what it once had and yet you still post this.....sigh. Belongs in banter. Step up your game too.
  14. You know exactly how you’re posting and it isn’t to explain what you are looking at. I’m not replying any further, nor am I going to warn you verbally any longer.
  15. bl temps 2 days ago showed too warm. You don’t have any thermal profiles to show why you’re saying this. I’m not playing with you. Up your game or go sit in the banter thread
  16. I’m asking one more time for everyone to keep the one liners and whining in the banter thread. Also, as asked repeatedly, do not mention any other board or you will also find yourself on the outside looking in. I’ve honestly had it with the trolling of the NWS, Mets and others that know more than most people here. I don’t care if you’ve been here 20 years like I have or a newbie of 20 minutes. You will find yourself gone. This place has standards and it’s time you all up your game. If anyone has any issues, message me. Otherwise step it up. That is all....now back to actual weather discussions.
  17. As the models turn really gets the cliff divers shouting their I’m gonna jump chants This is far from being dropped, and I kinda prefer the suppression this far out in a progressive pattern. Relax and enjoy the fact all the players are on the field and we’re not currently punting
  18. I hope it continues to show us various versions so there gets to be a thread
  19. I wasn’t here in ‘73, but I did walk across the Ohio River in ‘77 and the blizzards from 77-78 were absolutely amazing. Thank you for the link. Those were the days! I’m also 50 and have checked many weather item bucket list items off through the years Some I would love to repeat and some never to repeat again. The most snow I’ve ever seen here was 8.6”. It was Feb 12-13th, 2010 It was also the only time I knew it was going to snow from about 10 days out, it was just a matter of how much moisture came with it. I’d love to repeat that one day
  20. When a storm is within 3 days, then start a storm thread. If there's agreement with most models, then maybe 5 days. Next time a weenie tag will be issued
  21. Living in Columbia for 20+ years, I understand your frustration. I can’t tell you how many winters I couldn’t buy a single snowflake, while everyone else cashed in. Often multiple times during the season, lasting several years in a row. At least you’ve seen flakes in a horrible year across the eastern half of the country. That’s more than some can say. Just add it to your bucket list of things you wouldn’t want to repeat That’s what I do. This way I have “I survived” stories to tell the next generation
