  1. It seems Dr No’s overnight run had to reel me in a touch
  2. I’ve been ignoring this the past few days, but I see this carrot keeps dangling in front of me Shush it mister It will be molten lava outside soon enough Seriously though, mid March is looking interesting for a severe threat somewhere in the south
  3. The boat ride at the swamp is awesome! Watch for the bears and bobcats while hiking. It’s the perfect time to see them. I look forward to seeing your pictures
  4. You’ll love it! Brunswick and the barrier islands of St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Little St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island are so beautiful! The lovers tree, avenue of oaks, the lighthouse and the fort is a must see. There’s a really good rum distillery called Richland Rum there too oh......one more thing......bring me back some shrimp
  5. They have 24/7 access to the coastal/orchard grass during the growing season and 24/7 access to a round bale in the fall/winter. They absolutely love peppermints too
  6. Pffffffffftttttttttttttt........those couple of years weren’t nearly as rough as 1 snowfall in 12 years where the snow line would always set up 25 miles to my north, west and east Throw a drought in there too with *hottest temps ever* for a few continuous years. My son was 2 before he experienced his first thunderstorm. Hands down the worst decade I have ever experienced while living in sc. I really expected a lot more from this winter and I’m extremely disappointed, but I do have to say that for the first time in a few years, this has been more of a normal winter than the past couple. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad half the forum has had winter opportunities and the mountain peeps are also doing well. I’m just pouting about mby getting absolutely nada BTW.....congrats again to the MTS/NC/VA peeps as you track another opportunity next week and mby has another 33 degree rain
  7. I agree with @jburns, all natural weed lawns are the best lawns. More bees, birds, worms and fireflies will appreciate not being poisoned and I never have to worry about the kids (or pets) coming in contact with chemicals that can cause permanent damage while rolling down the hill or sliding into home while they play kick ball
  8. I feed the donkeys coastal/orchard mix (easy to get the round bales in winter) and they each get a small scoop of horse compete twice a day. Edit to say: donkeys are like horses when feeding. They should eat 1lb of forage for every 100 lbs of weight. Plus supplements.
  9. I am worried about too much rain also. I got some berry bushes last year and they drowned I was thinking about using 5gal buckets with rocks on the bottom and drainage holes. Tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, squash, lettuce, watermelon, cantaloupe, green beans and maybe corn.
  10. Managed to hit 40 degrees today, but it felt like the low 30’s. I’m looking forward to seeing the sun again
  11. Manifest it Dave You’ve met all us weenies right? Yasssss! I’m really looking forward to trying my luck with my first garden in the upstate.
  12. The amount of sea turtles they are rescuing there is unbelievable. I have friends that have been there(Texas, LA, OK, MO) for a week, rescuing dogs, cats, birds, horses and other livestock. People shouldn’t have animals if they can’t take care of them. The kill pens are horrible places under normal circumstances. Now it’s unprecedented how disgusting it is and rescue’s are beyond capacity. Ugh
  13. Kemah does mean facing the wind/wind in my face
  14. GFS Para......March will save us What could possibly go wrong?
  15. I went from tracking a possible severe threat to tracking ice within a span of 4 days
  16. I use light plastic hung on command strips to block off a small area. I have a ton of candles and clay pots to help warm the room. That comes in handy when you don’t have a fireplace. Hand warmers, strategically placed, are a good investment. Adding hot water in plastic bottles under blankets helps to keep you warm. Keep the car filled up to unthaw as needed too.
  17. It’s nice to see the sun again Afternoon high of 44, with wind chills in the mid 30’s.
  18. Indeed The plus side is now she can’t use the skillet against you If it has to rain, thunder should always accompany it
