  1. a day later and still looks like N/W'ers may see some white tomorrow night. NWS now saying R/S tomorrow night for cabin (Gaines) area.
  2. was barely drizzle on way into work. Radar looks to fix that shortly.
  3. I'd use US loosely. Were not in this one buddy, but Atomix/Mag/Paweather areas may be sharing the love in pic form. Like you, I'm just happy to see our N/W pals gettin some early love from above. Money panel says... aint a snowballs chance down here and as trainerboy often suggests....GFS thermal profiles are often a tad overdone w/ cold. Just somethin to ponder while we wonder.
  4. mountains gonna do there thing and keep western crew in the jackspot. They can use it too. Just like the ladies say....we'll take our 1" and like it.
  5. Looking forward to a rainy friday/sat morn. Somethin for the norther/westers to keep an eye out for is the trailing wave for sat/night and sunday. Might be the normal lucky ones getting a splattering of mashed taters on windshields/grassy spots. Some support being shown by other globals, so keep an eye out all you lucky ones.
  6. Yeah, saw the change to a colder regime started to show late last week on ens guidance, as ridging looks to be replace w/ troughiness here in the east. This has been showing up with enough consistency, that I'm starting to get a bit more excited. It's been a beaut of a fall weather period though, even if a bit toasty.
  7. its about 1 Rt#(23), and 3-5 traffic lights busier than Maytown.... edit....i forgot the
  8. thats about 3-5 miles from my house. If its a dry wedding...sneak over and I'll have some cold ones ready..
  9. yeah the warmth has been pretty stoudt. 70 when leaving cabin yesterday was a bit much. Looked like winter. Felt nothing like it. We've seen this show before, so while unwanted (to me) its not that uncommon. Hoping the cold showing on Ens guidance grows legs and sticks around in the east.
  10. Looks like another warmish week to 10 day on tap. Mid/late next week looks to be next chance at another cold press, but that's far away and I'm not divin in too deep. Just gonna roll w/ what we got and enjoy it. But fwiw the GFS a couple days back had a retrograding LP off SE coast that created a rather bizzare snow event for N 1/2 of state. I had to loop it a couple times. Was just fun to look at, and no hat hung on that run whatsoever, but I guess its time enough for strange things to happen as we get deeper into autumn.
  11. Beauty of a weekend. Got out every weekend to enjoy, and I'm not dissapointed at all. Heavy frost yesterday definitely ended my mowing season (no idea on count). Just gonna be leaf mulching for me. Some great photos being shared. Nice work gang.
  12. i had 36-38 on way to work. Lititz area was frosty as well. All of the mowing talk has me paying more attention. I dare say my lawn has slowed to an almost halt since last weeks couple of frosty days. Just leaf maintenance for me now me thinks.
  13. Would be great to see PSU pull it off. Tall order though. Phillies seem to have peaked at the right time. Good for them. Wishin all you P fans all the best. Heck, I may even watch it a bit.
  14. beers on back porch kinda night on tap...me thinks.
  15. It sure is. Looking forward to another nice autumnal weekend.
  16. and i remember reading some of the no color fall stuff earlier this year (due to drought). Ive been to NC pa, WC Pa, and now down here for this weekend. Fall looked just as beautiful as it always has. No lack of color at all. Up in clearfield last weekend i saw the deepest crimson oaks that I've ever seen. Adding that color to the autumnal palette was just spectacular. Enjoy all.
  17. then i'm in good company... the other Nut
  18. The rest of us lanco n easter folks have also not seen the sun in days as well. I like damn n dreary in the fall...but I'm good now.
  19. So ready for these warm n muggies to get the frig outta here. 58 is a low as I could go on way into work.
  20. same here in the not so historical district of Akron
  21. this looked (to me) like a normal adjustment back NW like we've seen so so many times over the years. if one looks over the runs of the past week, this was an often seen adjustment w/in the normal GFS bias. The maps had that look to it. With all due respect to the AFD's, the models corrected, and so did the precip fields (for us...not the westers). Something to keep in mind this season when the precip means a bit more for some of us. Not huggin GFS by any means, but it was there, and has done well enough IMO to just look at for general trend stuff for now. If yall disagree...well..its a discussion board, and my word isnt gospel by any means. This was less than 2 days ago. MSLP 100miles off Chessy Bay. I'd think we'd all agree that us easters would be keeping an eye on this....ESPECIALLY in winter.
  22. looking like the big heatwave is now back to a more muted look from last week as front is on the move and Wed is back to transition day back to our regularly scheduled autumnal weather program. Last week the GFS teased the warmies with a few runs of more warmth beyond that, but looks like that's not going to happen.
  23. sure was nice. Not sure that it was a surprise, as models hinted at it for the last few days. My yard approves as patches are starting to fill back in. Frosty mornings in Clearfield this weekend. Beauty of a weekend.
  24. above has some support from CMC/Icon in some sort, so it's not outside of the rhealm of possible ways to mute what many of us hope is the last warmth for a while. Been showing up in different itterations, but may be growin some legs...if not....get your banana hammocks out for one last roastin. Edit: and to not show bias....after looking a little deeper down the road, the GFS also wants to delay the front and has Wed,Thurs and into Friday on the warmish side. I guess this will be our indian summer for some as they frosted yesterday and today.
