  1. take out the humidity and i'm ok w/ the normal heat. Swampy sack just sucks. Here's to shorter days (and mostly what it means for us winter folk). TGIF.....
  2. Was just thinking along the same lines. At least we fail consistently round these parts....and not just in our precious winter months.
  3. Absolutely. Just turned 50 so my perspective adjusting is now in progress. Hope y'all are having a great summer. Beauty out there today. Nut
  4. They are all ok, and folks have stepped in to help. Roof ripped straight off of of neighbors brick structure. Gonna be alright. Some folks, are way worse off, so I consider them lucky. Beauty of a day out there today. Me likey
  5. Hate to agree, but find myself feeling that way as well. Not sure if we overanalyzed/overhyped/oversold what we were seeing, but it was a humbling winter for sure. Need to go into winter in a toned down kinda way no matter what the long range progs show, as it will be easier if we go in with the underpromise-overdeliver mindset.
  6. that funnel hit my brothers brother in laws house, and wrecked his next door neighbors.
  7. Wheres the LOVE button.... (I may need to rephrase that question )
  8. Dont think my fascination isnt there. It sure is, but the fury is a sobering thing. Your last statement is so true bud. We had straight line wind come through 2 years ago and i helped a family friend whose developement was raked by it. We cut 7 LARGE trees that came down and seeing the destruction in that neighborhood and watching families try to rebuild their lives is just not easy to see. Some homes became inhabitable because of insurance not helping etc...... Only good was seeing the community come together and when three young ladies/girls came around with baskets of food to feed us responding to aid....well it just chokes you up. Sorry to derail the thread. Back to the chase.
  9. I'm liking part 2 of your statement. First part....natsomuch. Mostly dodged here in Ephrata, but all around us got into it. Re batten down da hatches gang. 2 more days....boo. I hate the destruction. I'm a weather geek like the rest of yas, but its why i cant like this stuff and root for it to happen. Too much pain/loss/cost for too many. My snow just pisses many off....I'm cool w/ dat. Stay safe all.
  10. NE New Mexico. Arid summers and still gets snow.
  11. its just crazy how we have had such a long stretch of wet/ cold for the past 2 years.
  12. not lying, had parents over for dinner and we turned the heat on...... dont tell anyone though....dont want to lose my status as the ultimate snow/cold weenie. hope all is well with y'all.
  13. every week we get away from sustained heat/humidity is a win IMO.
  14. yeah, next week looks like first whack at summer heat and humidity....with all of the moisture in the air....just cant wait for first sack stickage.... was hoping for a little true spring, but thats not how we roll round here. bummer
  15. Wont be till 0z till big changes Boy i hope you know something we don't, but i have to say that while i have been an advocate for the northern trend, just not seeing enough wobble to see that happening. That NS energy has been far too consistent to see enough notable changes happen. If you have a voodo doll...i'll send you more pins.
  16. IMO we still have time for the northerly adjustments, as we have basically been watching this like a hawk from almost a week ago, so I think we all got a little invested really early on this threat. I'm likley out, but could see somewhere between DC and Balt, still getting in on some fun. Hoping it happens for you guys.
  17. That's a great snapshot of what is and has been one of the problems. Even though they have shown up at slightly varied degrees, they've always been showing up to spoil the party. Nice Round Hill.
  18. No....some/many of us wont....I purchased him for several years (and wxbell). I think he's great, but for my level of need, it didnt justify the expense....thats all. As many of you that dont like him (and his political rants...yes theyre a little much), many of us grew up watching him on weather world and following him on Accuwx. I will ALWAYS appreciate his abilities....done. Nut
  19. x 2 JB loves snow and weather. I appreciate his passion and insight. As much as he looks for how things may correct in our favor, he also has no problem saying how things change or bust. He has a better long range nose than most in the business. Nut
  20. I love the outdoors, snowmobiling, hunting and winter weather, but have always been a weather nut.
