  1. I think he said something last week wrt it being tough for him to do during the day. He'll be chimin in for HH I'm sure.
  2. There is no doubt in my mind that some northers and westers will have snow for a couple weeks yet. Yes, it'll get spotty, but I can almost guarantee I'll hear of snowmobiling in certain areas into mid March. This is the first year in my time doing it, that we've had rideable snow/conditions from day 1 until now. Been a fantastic run. I walk down to my porch at the cabin. Snow is DEEP there. Over 20" and dense.
  3. "Right now, my perception is that the snow is melting like crazy and I see no way this survives the next 48 hours. Tomorrow alone will kill a lot of this off. It's been a terrific run the past several weeks." Sounded like a general statement....not an MBY statement. Guess I read it wrong. My bad. Carry on.
  4. They've been doing it for weeks in Wellsboro....just sayin. Went by the other week and it made me think of Grumpy Old Men movie w/ Walter Matthau. Love that movie. they had huts/tents set up on the ice.
  5. Thats what I was getting at yesterday with all of the snows gone chatter... this week still looks like we hold on till the weekend, but beyond looks like lotsa 40's by day that will knock the stuffing outta the snowpack.
  6. Boy that would be nice. From the little I've payed attention of late, I've seen a few mentions of a late blocking episode, but it has to be strato driven, because nothing I see says that....but then again, I'm not very smart.
  7. Just parsed over tellies for next few weeks, and I'd say get your wintering in this week, cause AO/NAO look to be headed north aoa +1 and PNA -1. That combo says zonal Pac flow w/ no blocking. Not a good look IMO w/ big ones cutting for the midwest where I'd bet they blizzard a couple times on W/NW sides Warmies are getting warmed up.... But I still think snow holds for some/many here. Yes I'm sure someone will post their brown lawn pic and say I'm wrong, but in general, temps look ok to hold into weekend....till then, play in it as much as you can. I know I'm gonna.
  8. to the north, we've had pretty much pure snow, and up at cabin over the weekend, I'm easily sitting aoa 16-20" otg. It has condensed/compressed and was in GREAT shape. central part of state had minor mixing for a couple events, but did pretty well, and I'd wager 8-15" snow pack s/ Ip/ZR densifier additive. for southers we've had several events with Ip/Zr densifier additive....couple that w/ todays 3-5 will likely make it to the weekend. Yes, we'll lose some, but I dont think ANYONE sees bare ground for a while. Now if saturday becomes a rainer, then that may knock the pack down pretty good. can you tell I want 1 more week of snowpack........I'm such a weenie.
  9. I saw that and sorta flew by it.....now it makes sense. delayed....lol
  10. Glad you've had a decent year. You have surely been overdue for it.
  11. Btw..... WSPT got more snow today....... #statpadder
  12. Nor do I since bias is now the "in way to reporting"......with that said..... I'm out.....
  13. This was consistently modeled that something was coming, and when one looked solely at the GFS, it didnt scream snow....you had to do a little diggin to find the diamond in the rough. Peeps here where all chatty about "where did this come from - TV said little to nothing".... I suggested its a warm bias playing into some hoping it doesn't happen...add that to mets being "constantly wrong" mentality...and that's why you didn't hear about it. I told her I knew about this since mid last week, and its been showing up for many many runs. She was just shaking her head in disbelief. I giggled both inward and outward.....she snarked at me (playfully). Snow lovers rejoice...we win again!!
  14. verbatim it looks similar w/ only challenge is that thermal profiles will likely not be as favorable "pre game" as you call it.....antecedent as mets call it. Thats my worry, but its a ways away and as long as its not warm rain....I'm ok w/ whatevs.
  15. Flurries now in ETown. Happy for this nice event. Hoping we hang onto snowpack for this week. Looks like Wednesday is our melt day to survive, then we should hold what we have into the weekend. Beyond that.....don't really care. I made sure to take advantage of every chance to play in my precious snow....and I dare say, I'm pooped. Couple more times would be great though.
  16. Just heard a co worker talking about the snow, and when asked how much, he replied....well its touching my car door. he has a low rider sonata or sumthin like that, but it was enough for me to chuckle. I'm eyeballyin 3" in Etown and fluxing between S and S+.
  17. lol. I'm here (at work) and playin catch up from being off Friday. Don't worry, I'm taking a snow break about every 1/2 hr. Wouldnt miss this for the world. I'm so happy w/ this season, big time over performer (based on early thoughts of a ratter. Hoping for another storm or 2 and I'll be perfectly happy to see spring come. Been a great run
  18. Its the best short term message that they can send. People outside the weather don't really know/care what the technical term is called. Its dangerous and they pulled the alarm lever to get the message out quickly. Kudos to them.....its puking snow over here.
  19. flakes flyin here in ETown. Lets play gang. MAN I LOVE THIS WINTER STUFF!!
