    What did you wind up getting from the first storm? 10-12"? We got 14" before the turn to rain iirc The Friday night storm was much better for me. Did not expect that much and WaWa was awesome in the falling snow

    I was watching a video about Greensburg, Kansas and they were showing the FEMA housing/trailers that people used for a bit. Do you know if they plan on setting them up in a similar way (ie almost like a mini-town)? The amount of debris is staggering

    Obviously. There have been a number of storms in other regions that have done worse than that this year in terms of damage/lives etc. Could not name all of them. Joplin is just about as bad as I can remember hearing of/seeing...

    Any estimates on number of people left homeless? I wonder how many will never return... I am so sad about what has happened to Joplin, Tuscaloosa, Western Mass, etc etc etc. What a horrible year

    Today's additional additions to the toll have made 2011 the most deadly year since they started "official" record keeping in 1950. Obviously other years (1925) had more, but those were supposedly estimates... ... and it is only Memorial Day weekend. I hope we have seen the last fatality this year (doubtful)

    I'm wondering if the winds still sent the debris into the drain due to the cracked concrete. Doubt it was a deliberate hoax... The chair in the wall is very weird, too

    I am so sorry for the tragedy that your fine city has had happen. I wish all of you the best as lives and homes are rebuilt. So many sad tales.

    I still remember after Hurricane Gloria in 1986 went through my 'hood it smelled of cut wood... had not heard the cut grass anectdote before, but it makes sense. Based on the video with the trampoline, with all of the leaves/vegetation that was churned up that would really make sense.

    One of our prominent SNE posters lost phone/power last year after a big snowstorm and he was offline for like a week. We were a little worried about him and that was just snow.(and he is the biggest snow addict I know) After what JoMo has been through (assuming he is safe/uninjured) it would take some time to come back online here. Not everyone's biggest passion is posting on AmWx. Hopefully he is getting rest, eating good food, and drinking some cold beers somewhere.
